Favorite Pink Floyd Tracks/albums?
shade replied to SHARPE's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
Some of their really early stuff is different/cool. Like "Piper at the Gates of dawn". My favourite album would be between "Animals" and "Wish you were here" at the moment anyways. Like someone has said...there are too many good tracks to name. -

I think the lyrics on their new album are horrible. As for musically they just knock off Rage Against the Machine. -

Did anyone else go see this movie? If so, what did you think? I went in to see this Jet Li movie with low expectations, but I was fairly suprised. The acting is pretty good, as well it has a healthy mix of action/plot. I was glad to see there wasn't a copious amount of fight scenes and whatnot. I'm not sure if I'd suggest seeing it in theaters, but definatly rent it when it comes out.

I think it is a decent album. The guitarist sings a bit too much for my tastes, but I dig it. I still enjoy self-titled/toxicity the best though.

I will probably buy this when it comes out. As well, Im debating if I want to get tickets for their toronto show, which go on sale in fifty minutes. Damn Money. -
It looks decent. Nothing really stellar though.

Thanks to the member who e-mailed the Billy Corgan Songs to me. I got the songs but lost his e-mail so I will say my Thank you's here.

This album is fairly mediocre. I listen to it now and then...mostly just to hear "beside you in time" and "right where it belongs"

Alright, I downloaded the new album, which is pretty damn good from what I hear so far. As for older tracks, those aren't included in this release, its all new stuff except for the track "king Diamond". However, there is now a song called "temple of Ligeia". I suggest people pick up this album. Chino is the man.

Damn, I'm one year off.

Obi Wan is definatley my favourite character after watching that movie. The whole fight at the end was amazing. I loved the "I've got the higher ground" scene. Suprisingly I thought Anakin was done fairly well at that point. the "I hate You" line was pretty good. I like how you figure out that Qui gon is the one talking to Obi Wan in "a new hope", I always wondered who the hell he was talking to.

Mina Loy is a really good track. I am excited about this album. Hopefully the tour hits some Toronto shows. Edit: the other two songs have apparently expired for download?
-
Ya it is a pretty damn good album. Chino's vocals are very different, as well as his lyrics. I enjoy Mike Patton's vocals on Kool-Aid Party. Really cool soundscapes. Edit: shit maybe Im talking about the older releases, Ya, I want to check out the new album.

Avalanche. They could really do some good things with this song.

Damn Right. Tool/A Perfect Circle are amazing bands.

Boards Of Canada

Sorry for bumping an old thread. But, Boards of Canada are an pretty amazing group. "Music has the right to Children" Is definatley my favourite of their works, followed by "twoism" and "Geogaddi". This is really relaxing/ambient music. -
The Mars Volta

I've seen these guys live. It was a pretty amazing show. Both of their albums are really good, The Tremulant EP is a bit weak, but that is understandable. Also, I suggest checking out the "Frances the Mute" Single "decoder. Which features the song "Frances the Mute", its pretty damn good.
