  1. aw, did he really used to get picked on like that? I'm sorry for not knowing that much about MG, I've been into him for a few years but I'm only knowledgable about his music, lyrics, and polictical views. If that's true though I feel really bad. Let's bake him a cake. ;)
  2. hahaha samsonite, I was way off thanks a lot, you're awesome.
  3. I hate to be that guy who's a jerk, but I really like it. ;)
  4. Hey, I hope someone hasn't already adressed this and I'm just a repeat, but does anyone know what he says in the pre-breakdown section (2:40) of Avalanche ('If it's impossible to drift...of all these..I'll talk about you') I'm just curious if anyone has a sure complete lyrical part for that section and/or what the quotes in the background are from, if anything. Ok, that's it I hope somebody can help me out and if you can, then you're awesome.
  5. Maverick, if you don't like it, you don't have to put it down so maliciously. to each his/her own and fiona apple is a tremendous songwriter with a brilliantly original voice
  6. Fiona Apple - Fast As You Can
  7. I reallllly recommend these following albums: Sigur Ros - ( ) (Untitled) Chris Cornell - Euphoria Morning Fiona Apple - When The Pawn... Honestly, I'm the king of picky listeners but these albums have such grace and diligence in the writing and production that I think theres really something for everyone. And If you want I'll buy them for you and drive to your house and hand them to you, because I really want everyone to give these a listen ;)
  8. yea, WhiteLight was in a way a leap from the sounds of Avalance. When posting I was listening to HouseOfSmokeMirrors which is more in the vein of WhiteLight (to me). But WL has definatly a much more textural and raw sound then Avalanche; forgive me for my audacity ;)
  9. Delicate - Damien Rice Hang 11 - John Petrucci & Jordan Rudess Fiona Apple - Extraordinary Machine (the whole album is really great)
  10. Hey, I'm a student at Berklee college of music in Boston and I'm doing a modern music paper for one of my classes about MG and his music. Does anyone else agree that it seems since early demos and LastGhetto that his musical style got more and more etherial/fluid/enigmatic and then with Avalanche and WhiteLight became more rough/underproduced? (Not in a bad way though) I've kind of been thinking in sort of a circle, him touching back on the sound that he started with Or maybe I'm wrong and dumb. let me know
