  1. Except the horrendous guilt that haunts you every day of your life right?
  2. Why was everything past here deleted?
  3. I didn't find Fight Club very faithful to the book (content wise.) I thought of the film as an expansion with some minor tweaks. But in that regard, it was really f'in awesome. I haven't watched American History X, but there's no way in hell they can top Fight Club's ending. I would be highly surprised if AHX turned out to be better than Fight Club because the latter is one of the greatest movies i've ever seen.
  4. The "tea leaves" are all hazy and stuff. I'm flippin out mannnnn.

    Annabelle

I laughed my ass off for a good 5 minutes after hearing that song.
  6. Probably taking some acid and preparing for her next prediction.
  7. Nope. she did the original version (slow) put it on a demo tape and sent it to them. OLP then proceeded to do a cover of it. They explained the history of it at one of their live shows. I was there for the other bands. Personally i like her version 10x better, but that's just a matter of opinion.
  8. Nah. They weren't worse than any other band that was started by a bunch of 12 year olds thinking they were cool.
  9. I've always hated them for stealing Sarah Slean's song "Julia." I don't care if they bought it off of her or whatever. It's a damn good song, and Raine's annoying fucking vocals ruin it.
  10. It's one of those movies that looks amazing even though i'll probably never rent it.
  11. Irony, i think.
  12. *gasp* Shit, i thought it was going to be a new character because i couldn't think of anyone mentioned with those initials. But i definitly forgot about Regalus. You totally win a cake. Or my respect. Or something. Whatever's most valuable.
  13. "Anti-Musical-Musical" is the right way to say it. Richard Kelly's already been quoted stating that he dislikes musicals but loves their structure. Southland Tales is going to be a complete satire of a musical which adds to the comedy element in Musical/Comedy/Thriller. Think that game in "Whose Line is it Anyway?" where they carry on a dialogue but freeze on a certain, which has to be made into a song. Although i expect it will be significantly better.
  14. The Incredible Moses Leroy - Fuzzy
  15. The irony of you posting this on the internet seems to be lost.
  16. Placebo - Pure Morning
  17. I've just downloaded them. They're quite good.
  18. You're half right. He doesn't say 'no' but he does say 'Severus....Please....' It's two lines before Snape actually utters Avada Kedavra But i completly agree with the rest of your post wholeheartedly. I'd like to add that i think that another reason Snape killed Dumbledore, is because Voldemort would have killed Malfoy if he didn't kill Dumbledore. The fact that Dumbledore has a strong reason for believing Snape and has taken that reason to the grave, suggests that there is still more to Snape that we haven't discovered. I think a lot of what Snape did in that chapter was trying to follow his death eater image as closely as possible. Obviously he was already suspected to be a traitor by Bellatrix, so i think it was inevitable in the story for Snape to do something so appalingly "death-eater-like" that it confirmed his allegiance. What does this better than murdering Dumbledore? And i think Dumbledore knew this from the get go. It's ooc for Dumbledore to be pleading with someone. It is more in his nature to quietly accept his fate, or cautiously defend himself in both words and actions. Not "Severus....Please..." I think i'm going to like the last book a lot better than all the others.
  19. I'm not exactly sure how this thread is working (if at all) but i've been reading a fair bit recently and have thus acquired a number of books: What i've read: V for Vendetta (i read it earlier but now i have my own copy) The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime - Mark Haddon Harry Potter & the Half Blood Prince - JK Rowling Fight Club - Chuck Pahlinuk(sp?) Currently Reading: Microserfs - Douglas Copeland What i'll soon be reading: The Golden Compass - ? A Fine Balance - Rohinton Mistry Angels & Demons - Dan Brown Timequake - Kurt Vonnegut
  20. I can see your point with Malfoy. I concede there. As for Ginny/Harry, no matter what way you look at it: it was bullcrap. It wasn't a shock of course, that Ginny still liked him. But honestly, all of a sudden Harry (who was completly flustered when Cho kissed him) is madly in love with Ginny and can't stop thinking about her, and then lunges in for a passionate kiss from her near the end. That was completly out of character. Harry's NEVER shown signs of liking Ginny. And he's had 5 books to do it in. In regards to Dumbledore/Snape, I personally don't think Dumbledore was wrong just yet. It's not like Dumbledore to plead for his life. At all. I think that was a complete put-on, and Snape didn't want to kill him but didn't have much of a choice. And Dumbledore knew the same. The vampire pissed me off, because it seemed to me like JK felt obligated to write one in just to appease the fans. If Bill actually BECAME a werewolf, i wouldn't complain in the slightest. It's just pretty dismissive to give him such serious injuries and say "oh well we don't know what will happen. TUNE IN NEXT BOOK!!" "'E likes raw meet" "Ahahahaha shut up Fleur and go surrender to Germany" And even assuming that JK told you about Tonks and Lupin being tied into the Bill storyline personally, their now sketchy relationship was still out of nowhere. (not out of nowhere in regards to this book, but in regards to Order of the Phoenix)
  21. It's incredibly limiting, no matter how versatile the actor is. Tim Burton is a superb director, but he's relying to much on Johnny to make his movies good. Most directors if they reuse actors, make sure to rotate them between major and minor roles. Tim Burton is never going to grow as a director if he's just going to stick with the same principle actor for major roles. Personally i don't care all that much, because he cranks out quality movies one after the other. But as people have mentioned, now he's known for sticking to one type of filmmaking. And despite his movies being excellent, it's almost redundant to walk into a Burton film, because you know what you're going to get more or less. If anything good can be said about Planet of the Apes, it's that it differed immensely from anything Burton had previously made.
  22. Yea it was definitly out of character. Everywhere. It was f'in annoying. I'll list off the ones i spotted + other things that pissed me off: OOC: -Malfoy not killing Dumbledore -Harry asking out Ginny (wtf WAS that? Something to appease shippers?) -Dumbledore's "Please....Snape...No!" (although i suspect it was a put on. nevertheless) EDIT: -actually we can add the Tonks and Lupin thing here too Things that pissed me off: -The vampire cameo (again, wtf? relevance?) -Bill getting bitten by a werewolf (wt freaking f?!?) -Tonks and Lupin (i can only type wtf? so may times) And one question i have: What was Malfoy doing in the room of requirement? I didn't get that. Was it repairing the wardrobe? In summation, the book to me was like JK searching through all the fan fics for ideas and then encorporating them within the story. On a side note: What do we make of Snape now?
  23. Because Rivers fucking hates it with a passion. It's somewhat tragic. When they released "The Blue Album" it was a big success and everyone loved it. Unfortunatly Rivers is a sucker for making people like him. So when the critics and the fans said it was amazing, he loved it all. But after breaking up with a serious girlfriend (who played the cello) he locked himself away and wrote the Pinkerton album in depression and angst etc.. When it was recorded and released, Rivers thought that it was his "masterpiece" and was really fuckin' pumped about how it turned out. But the critics tore it apart, which obviously affected Rivers' perception of the album. The fact that it's so personal is probably one reason why Rivers doesn't like it, but the main reason is that the critics hated something that he poured his soul and energy into. And he took it a bit personal. Since then he's been quoted a million times saying that he's constantly trying to make the perfect album. Trying to get that mainstream appeal/love. Unfortunatly he sucks at it, because they eventually released "Beverly Hills." And that is easily the shittiest song i've heard since LFO released an album.
