  1. Do you still have a lot of MGB memorabilia? Would any of it ever part your company?
  2. Wow, that's an early one, heavy use of the organ...
  3. The Guitar part right before, "This ain
  4. This is so nice...like an early Xmas present to know that Matt has a set list, and is indeed going to record!
  5. Advertising on Police Cars Rico Anti-Pop
  6. He'll get a break, he's bound to get one, and at the prospect of getting a double album (or perhaps another 5 or 6 song EP if it's a single album) sometime in 2007...I'm looking forward to 2007 already. Now If I'd have just saved those plans for that stupid time machine...err...man I have to lay off of the sauce...
  7. Dark Town Gospel would be appropriate...I wonder if Matt ever looks on this board, specifically this thread, to sample reactions... Okay so that's pry not true, but it would be fun if it was...
  8. This is going to be a random thread, but does anyone remember ICQ (or does anyone still use it?). I remember there being a MGB sound scheme that a fan had made. The reason that I remember is it has Matt saying "Has the beverage cart arrived yet gentlemen?" or something to that effect, as well as a bunch of sound clips of MGB tunes and voice clips of Matt and the rest of the band. If anyone can find it, or has it, it would be greatly appreciated. ;)
  9. "A 23 minute Odyssey, much to my record company's chagrin"
  10. I always thought that "Running For Home" had to do with Matt writing about the changes that occur around you when you become famous (fitting since it was written after the popularity of Underdogs)...thought I read that somewhere in an interview...
  11. Classic, as that's one of Matt's least favorite songs... By the way hot carl, thanks so much for the kind words on the last page, really made me smile.
  12. Actually that would be pretty good too...
  13. Sorry if this has already been posted, but given that Matt has announced plans to record some new tracks, and given what he's been through, what do you think the name of the new CD will be/should be. Given what he's written on the blogs, I really like Ghost In A Hospital Hall Not sure that it would ever be considered as an actual title, but the symbolism of being a ghost of your former self, or something to that effect, is interesting.
  14. Here is what is really sad in the whole scheme of things...there was a time and a place (allegedly) where times were happier That being said, If I have an ex-wife and she decides to keep the last name, it had better be an amicable split (if there is such a thing), though knowing me I'd probably change my last name to disassociate myself from her.
  15. "I want to point out that in the weeks ahead I am going to make a record. It will be a record of confusion, of openness, and one that will, quite obviously, deal very openly with what has happened to me this year. It will, like the drawings that I have removed, exist in perpetuity, a record of emotion, even though in the years to come my own perspective on events, and even the people involved, might change. It is, like any snapshot of a single moment, simply a representation of time, of colour, all for the sake of memory." - Taken from Matt's site. Best...News...Ever... ;)
  16. I've been seeing a lot of posts of this nature lately. I think we're decent human beings first and Matthew Good fans second. We should be more concerned with Matt's mental well-being than the calibre of music he may or may not produce as a result. In fact, I think the entire idea that traumatic experiences spark musical creativity is a bit naive. In no way did I mean that Matt should be rushing to the studio to record another album. And the quote about the "15 minute song" was taken from Matt on his site. What I was trying to do is put a positive spin on an otherwise dark situation. Secondly, I am concerned for Matt and his well being given the quotes he posted on his flickr page: "It's not about how they feel, it's about how I feel. That's what art is for. I found myself in a hospital bed thinking about the fact that I almost died last thursday, and a lot of things impacted me. I would like to say that the other half involved in the story behind this piece came to see me, or even called, or even treated it as if it were something other than an inconvenience to their life, as if an eternal stranger, not someone that stood shoulder to shoulder at an alter and smiled. That too has impact. Art isn't for sparing anything because you're worried that other people might be offended. In the strictest of senses what I have said here is true, and therefore in no way slanderous. It is time that I stopped worrying about the reprocussions of feelings and simply allow myself to feel. Because the alternative is insanity or the decay of ones own humanity to such an extent that nothing matters anymore, and that relationships with other people exist only to serve ones own purposes." Followed by: "You know, and I don't mean to be rude, but seriously - people need to stow it with the simple quick fucking fix metaphors for the trials of life. The reason why we are so insulated as people in our society, and why pieces like this bother some, is because they refuse to deal with things properly. Instead they offer up lame one liners about moving on and using experiences to shape us. Shape has nothing to do with life, in my opinion. Form, on the other hand, has everything to do with it." They can be found in original form here Whenever you hear someone tell you that they "Almost Died" you cannot help but be concerned...
  17. Quite frankly, given the new post by Matt, I can't help but think that we may witness the breakdown of a truly great artist. It's one thing to dismiss a post like this, however being that this is another one, this time dealing with Matt being in the hospital, you can't help but think the worst... But I'm trying to be an optimist, hoping that these experiences will produce the best album to date, and that Matt does write and record a 15 minute song to put on a future album...
  18. Look what's new on new on Matt's website. New lyrics perhaps? And a mini manifesto? What a treat! ;)
  19. And here they are: Jenni's Song The Future Is X-Rated Hello Timebomb Rico Sorry about using megaupload, it's a pain, but it works... Enjoy!, RK
  20. It's amazing what you find when you clean up files on your computer. I have 4 of MGB's songs remixed by (presumably) a fan (SilentNarcotic). If any one knows how to post them so everone can D/L them, let me know. They are not anything spectacular, but rather re-interpretations and re-editing of the songs...mostly just interesting. Rico, Future Is X Rated, Jenni's Song and Hello Time Bomb are the tracks. Cheers, RK
