I wouldn't be suprised if Matt did use drugs (heavy ones at that) Just compare how he looks now and then. He used to look very strung out and thin, now hes kinda chubby ;) I dunno though, pure speculation. Its amazing how one little blog comment can spark such a discussiong

I always knew that someone in MGB was into drugs, I forget why though. I was also under the impression that is was just grass (not super bad in my opinion) You have to admit though some of the greatest music (and art for that matter) was influenced by drugs. The Beatles? Pink Floyd? Jimmi Hendrix?

I definatly agree with your first statement, the long songs with the atmospheric type sound to them (did that make sense?) are amazing. I don't really understand the next part though...Giant and Advertising on police cars were both released by MGB and while were hunting rabbits and near fantastica were both on avalanche?

I dunno, to me Matt used to be this super cool asshole type rockstar who didn't care about anyone or anything. Nowadays hes too...pudgy and nice. That stupid "vote for pedro" shirt he was wearing kinda ticked me off. I dunno, like it said in the drug thread maybe Im just tired and grumpy....

Avalanche was amazing and so is Can't get shot in the back but to me it still nothing compared to underdogs and beautiful midnight. WLRR was a disapointment and everything he's done with "jackpillowhead" so far has be kinda crumby in my opinion. I dunno, mabye Im just up too late and am grumpy...

I have complete faith that it will be awesome. Yeah I can't see any way that they could screw this up...great cast, great story, cool looking effects. It looks very promising

I also heard it was Ian. Sure he doesn't wake up to drug dealers anymore but his music isn't nearly as good.

I think matts wife is incredibly lame...I blame her for matts descent into wallowing crappyness... Seriously though, she may be easy on the eyes but shes so dumb. She makes me lose respect for matt. I still love his music though.. I liked your comment dan, very clever!

wow, matt has really gone down hill. He's ditched Rich for Limblifters bassist, Christian is gone...atleast Pat is still around. And why the hell is he wearing a vote for pedro shirt? Am I the only person who thought that movie was lame?

yeah, just heard beverly hills. It was rather dissapointing. I like weezer enough that I'll still buy the alblum and listen to it a lot though. A tour with the foo fighters would be amazing, I hope they hit Canada. I hate looking at tour dates and seeing the only 2 places in Canada a band is playing is Toronto and Vancover. Calgary, that where they SHOULD go.

Apparations hooked me. I remeber hearing that song and just feeling overwhelmed because I had never heard anything like that before (I was in grade 6 at the time)

I remeber when Avalanche first came out my buddy I both bought copies after school before we had a to work so we could listen to them while we worked (washing dishes!). When we got there we started to listen and were both amazed and very excited at how great the new CD was. It was then that another girl (a real bitch at that) turned it off and put in 50 cent....That meant war. So we did what any other loyal matthew good fan would do, we turned the shitty rap off! This did not go over well with "the bitch" she put 50 back on...we put matt back on but this time we constructed an impenitrable fortress out of dishes rags and dish racks. When the girl tried to put her music back on the fortress collapsed and fell down on her (the CD player was on a shelf) and she raged on us (up untill then it was an silent war). The more she yelled the harder we laughed which in turn made her yell more. Good times.

the thing about the steak is if it was all you ate you might be missing out on something better! I did like the avalanche style best though.

I doubt there would be LotGA b-sides, it was an Indy CD so the band probaly didn't have a whole lot of extra cash to record. They probaly knew exactly what they wanted before they started.
