Juno Winners
Instant-Karma replied to Crusader's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
bah, the junos kinda sucked (big surprise) all the awards go to crappy bands with commercial success. I liked that K-Os won quite a few, hes atleast doing something real. Some of the live performances were amazing though, the hip and kadie lang I thought were very good. -
I can see Matt playind Dylan, matt has always said he is a big fan of Dylan so him knowing a few of his songs is not unlikly. AC/DC on the other hand doesn't make much sense to me. From what I understood matt grew up listening to folk music...I dunno...doesn't make sense.

The Hip Rock It Out At The Junos

oh man, definatly just saw that I thought, OMG I wonder who else saw that. Gord did look look a little out of it, I liked how he started singing "aside" by the weakerthans "and I'm leaning on this broken fence between past and present tense" The hip and the weakerthans being 2 of my faverout bands (other than mgb) I was in a state of awe. I also thought Katie Langs version of lenord cohans "hallehjuah" (spelling?) was pretty decent to. Uh oh, looks like billy talent is taking the stage... EDIT: typos, its late -

Its about time, I liked how sam re-released WWBIAF like...3 times -
It has actually been a dream of mine to see matt go on american idol. Paula would ask him what song is would be singing and he would say, "oh this is one I wrote myself" then would proceed to begin avalanche. Simon would become annoyed with the slow monotone type intro (one foot infront of the other...) and begin to make witty yet rude remarks about matts glasses or something. By this time Matt will have worked his way up to the chorus and metaphoricly speaking, "explode" into the "Ah-Ah-Ah-valanche...." part. All three judges stunned will sit back in awe, jaws open. The black guy (can't remember his name) might even take off his glasses and rub his eye. Then after it was all over matt would smile and walk away. That would be so sweet... As for matt retiring I doubt that will ever happen. He's the kinda guy who makes music because he loves to, not to make money or for the fame. He may slow down, have some kids and be sorta dormant for a while but I'm sure you can always count on him for a good song or two.

maximum carnage was a sweet ass video game though. It was so impossible, I can get to the last level but never have enough super heros to beat carnage....

I'm going to add sublime and rage against the machine to my list -
matthew good has covered thunderstruck?
-
how do you think rich feels now? I mean him and matt have played together for over 10 years and (I think, don't shoot me if I'm wrong) and now matts ditching him for the limblifter chick?
-
it would be rather hipocritical to constantly criticize the states and then not even play down there, maybe not actually. I dunno, I think it is....
-
Its pretty ironic you would come on a matthew good forum and tell everyone that listens to matthew good to get a life...
-
we can only hope, I was watching conan and penlope cruz was on. Now she is hot, you could tell she even made conan nervous ;)

Ever see the rolling stones top 500 alblums of all time? I thought that list was dead on. Beatles sgt peppers was number one. That list seemed to be mostly new and popular music, I was pretty proud I owned over half the CDs on the list...

Im going to say that I am dissapointed with matts decision to change the line up. I was just starting to like christian and pat as much as I liked the original MGB. I'm also dissapointed because I was a pretty big limblifter fan and now they won't be making any new music. I wasn't upset to the point of writing angry hate emails to matt but I'm still pretty bummed about this decision. Matts comment about his music attracting "low" fans sorta pissed me off to, he has no right to judge the people who listen to his music. I dunno, I'm still hoping for a MGB reunion tour. I only got to see them once (beautiful midnight tour) and it was 10x better than any show of his I've seen since (I've seen him 3x with pat and christian) Anyone else notice how matt usually starts working with muscians he tours with?

I know this is pretty random but which bands do you guys think were the most important/influential/awesomest bands (or artists) of the 90s were my list is the following Radiohead Greenday Nirvana the Smashing Pumkins and weezer!

Weezer
Instant-Karma replied to Dan #3's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
oh don't get me wrong I'd hit it to.... actually its funny that you would say it was about a stripper because the song jamie was written about a the girl rivers had sex with on his first porn audition (he wanted to be a porn star) This girl later became the bands manager. I guess that story really wasn't that funny...but weezer did write songs about strippers. What do you think will be better make believe or matts new alblum? I have this funny feeling people are going to be a little biased on this forum but hey... -
Weezer

the sweater was a metaphor! OMG...deep but seriously, weezer is amazing =w= -
Im pretty sure its goign to be hugely popular no matter who the villian is. I also would love to see some x-men cameos or some other marvel characters making an appearance.
