I think I'd go with "A Boy and His Machine Gun" as long as its not horribly slaughtered.

Yeah the Wedge is still decent but it doesnt' seem like they're trying that hard to find obscure videos. I also found that Going Coastal, which was also cut down from Much East/West, still has some good music and interviews.

Hey what song did he play before avalanche on saturday? Just curious as to which song I missed.

I finally found the leak to their upcoming release. Needless to say, I love these guys, their music is so upbeat and a nice change in a tired genre. People often compare them to Fallout Boy because of the voice but these guys have better lyrics and music. But I admit they are quite poppy. Anyone else into them? Here's a track from their new one: http://s26.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0ZGVJGL...FM0KU92HICX3D23

Boy are you wrong, I liked them when I was 13. -
Personally I'd say that Avalanche was the album that I saw a lyrical downfall. There would never be anything like "Song for the Girl" during the MGB era. A song with the same subject matter, maybe, but not with those upfront "I love you" lyrics. Avalanche does have some strong points as does White Light nowhere near the calibre of Beautiful Midnight. I accept that its just natural progression. I do, however, wish that the MGB era lasted a little longer, as I only got one chance to see the band perform and it wasn't one of those "stuffed animal burning" shows.

Yeah, the Matthew Good Band was by far a better era. I liked his music more when he had an actual lead guitarist and his lyrics were more meaningful back then. I also prefer his voice back when he was a chain smoker; it had a more raspy side to it(not that I condone smoking). His solo career is decent but MGB is untouchable.

I think that if you get there at the 8:00 show time you'll have no problem. I got there around 9:15 yesterday because usually the acts take at least 45 minutes to get up there (I was expecting the opening act to take longer). That was not the case yesterday but 8 should do it.

I'm sure there's already a thread for this group but yeah... they're great. One of those bands like Sam Roberts and the Hip that actually sound Canadian. Which is a good thing. -
Just got back from the show at Sugar Nightclub in Vic. For some reason the show was earlier than usual, so I missed the first song. It was a great show and the most of the crowd knew the songs so there was a good deal of singing. Besides "the rat who would be king", "the future is x-rated" + "suburbia", which I have never seen live, it was the "usual" setlist. Highlights include Matt telling Rich he's sexy, Matt making fun of the venue's cheap lighting effects, and of course acoustic apparitions. Was kinda hoping for a new song but maybe he'll do one later in the tour.

Weakerthans/Constantines early on in the year. Hopefully the Cons come back around again.
