I'm not being vague at all. If I was dating a girl and she said "I could care less" and argued with me about it, I'd probably dump her. That's just grade-A dumb.

 

Edit: it may seem like I'm insane, but out of your/you're, too/to/two, their/there/they're etc, this one bothters me more than all of them combined. Not being able to spell or choose the proper function of a word is annoying, but remotely tolerable. Not knowing how to construct a simple sentence to express your disinterest is not. People these days...

 

Edit again: the phrase IS acceptable when it makes contextual sense, ie:

 

"do you care about Jenna?"

"she's alright I suppose. I mean, I COULD care less, ya know?"

 

Sadly, no one ever uses it in this context, and even there it's a little awkward and repetitive, and you could just say "I care a bit" instead of "I care an unquantifiable amount, defined only by the fact that it's > 0."
