Which Hit Is Better?

Which MGB song do you think is better?? Both are popular enough that people who do not listen to Matthew Good usually name them.

well, i never got sick of strange days.

i did get sick of apparitions.

so there's my answer, i suppose.

I voted Apparitions. I don't want to say it's necessarily "better." I just like it more.

I prefer Apparitions. I like its melody more than Strange Days'. Lyrically, both are of Matthew's best, though, which makes it a tough call.

Both are great songs, i just enjoy listening to Apparitions more.

that's tough but I vote apparitions. strange days is actually very similar to apparitions.some similarities include the song composition, folky intro, introduction for an intro(say hello, good morning) aswell as a very similar video.

 

So, these things make strange days seem less original. Apparitions is just classic MGB.

I voted Apparitions, but I think both songs are good, I also like both videos equally. Musically and Lyrically, they are just really great songs.

Strange Days inspired me to quit my job and evaluate my life, so that one. But again, the two are so good itfeels wrong to measure them against one another.

It's been said before, but the videos for both songs are outstanding. I can't think of or listen to either song without thinking of the videos. These days music videos can be so forgetful, but the videos for Strange Days and Apparitions have meaning and purpose.

I did pick Strange Days; not sure I can put into words why. Maybe because it wasn't overplayed as much. I think I like the images in Strange Days better - "you crawled from the cancer to land on your feet", "we're done lying for a living" -amazingly poetic, and thought-provoking. I think I understand the song better than Apparitions.

I have to admit, even though I voted for Strange Days I'm not sure about this poll. These are both key Matt Good songs. But the thing is, they shouldn't be in competition. Great MG songs form a complimentary, not a state of siege.

Yeah...I just wanted to see which songs people enjoyed listening to more.... it's just like Rico and Hello Time Bomb, both pretty popular...but which do people enjoy listening to more?? I would say Rico just because HTB was soo over-played!

Apparitions is a beautiful song & the introduction to MGB for so many people, but sonically I think Strange Days offers more.
