I love Vermeer (and pretty much anything of the Northern Baroque persuasion), Degas, Velasquez, and Gericault. Art history excites me a lot...because I'm a loser.

omg art history.. you speak my language.

gericault makes me pee myself. i love this one artist.. and the name is huge in art history so its weird that i'm forgetting it... frig. now i won't be able to sleep at night.

The only qualm I have with HR Giger's work is that if I had any of it in my room, I'd be afraid to sleep or change in there...

if i was uber-rich, i'd commission giger to make me a bed, a la angel statues posted above. one small one for each bed post, and some giant, unifying sculpted piece for the head board.

I hate it. It is a completely overt exploitation of the female body. In a very literal sense, it is objectifying the female form, as the woman is presented as just that, an object, ready for use by a man (ie. Jonathon Davis), further exemplifying the patriarchy that continues to exist, even in today's society.

Ok, so I never took art history. I took sociology. Does it show? ;)
