How Did You React When You Heard Mgb Broke Up?

I was just thinking about where I was when I first heard that MGB broke up. I was in the bathroom reading the paper and stumbled across the article, needless to say, I was pretty bummed out. See, at the time, I had no internet access and just figured that there would never again be any great Matt Good music. I'm glad I was wrong but I want to know how everyone else felt when they heard.

i never heard about it until it was ancient history. wasn't a fan then. i actually found out much later, when i had become a fan, that i had walked out of edgefest after seeing the bands i'd gone to see and missed mgb. i probably would have been a fan alot earlier if i'd stayed.

Cried for 32 days non-stop, stepped into depression, tried to kill myself then I got a puppy...

Suprisingly, I managed to sleep at night...

I'd heard about it a couple of weeks prior to AoB's release. I didn't buy it right away 'cause I wasn't really wanting to hear the last notes of a band I'd listened to for all of my teen years (13-19). I finally did, and I cried like a stupid little kid. I also had a nasty-arsed cold, so I also snotted like stupid little kid.

I think what upset me the most was the loss of something that was a constant for me. I knew Matty was going to continue on, but I happened to suck at change in those days.

i found out when they said "this is matthew good" on the radio when playing weapon.

i didnt cry or anything cause i wasnt a big fan...i just knew and like all his singles (which is like 14)

I remember exactly. I was watching Much on Demand, and someone had sent in a Vote-o-matic dealie to commemmorate their break-up or something like that. I didn't look too much into it at the time, since I was only in grade 8 at the time, and I really only bought AoB for the singles (yeah, I used to be one of them). But the cool thing was, was that I liked a few other songs on it and put it away for about 6 months or so, then later I took it out again around when Weapon came on the radio and listened to it and it totally blew me away.

Haha, I actually didn't hear (no internet) until Weapon started playing on the radio... and they were like "Matthew Good with Weapon!" and I started to question things... then I was surfing in computer class and came across an article. There was definitely a 'noooooo.... ;)' but then I realized he'd still be making music.

heard it on the radio on the way back from working at camp trillium...I was not impressed...pretty scared actually, because I had grown up listening to mgb, their music was huge to me

It actually Amazes me hoe many people didn't know until Weapon came out. (Kinda like with most people and Rob Zombies solo career) I just find it funny that Weapon was created as a joke of sorts on Much music and it did so well and is so loved. I love it too.

I was not surprised when I first heard that MGB broke up...I had been a huge fan since the last of the ghetto astronauts and was loving their music even more after the release of BM. I once watched a show they did on muchmusic on mgb and Matt and Dave talked about their differences so I kind wasn

they were reported to have broken up once, and reunited..then broke up finally the second time....it could very well have been more times than that, they just reconciled much quicker

I don't remember how I found out about it but I was pretty bummed about it. When I got AoB I couldn't listen to it. I'm just starting to get into it in the last two years or so but it's still hard for me to listen to.
