Anyway, after a quick google, I'll say Xandi is wrong because she's got a new CD out this eyar (a holiday album) being released in October.

I remember when I was really young, her music videos were always being played on TV. I liked them but was too afraid to admit it, so I'd always change the channel whenever anyone walked in. Oh to be in fourth grade again.

 

That being said, I have no idea what she sounds like anymore.

She is releasing the Christmas CD which I think is all other peoples songs except for one. I heart her.

Last I heard, it wasn't a retirement, so much as her wanting to spend a lot more time with her family. So, yeah, I guess temporary semi-retired.

i guess that is the thing with female singers, we all thing that they retired, but they just decide to go off and start a family. and then they come back after a while.

I personally think that she has one of the most beautiful female voices of the present day. While I tend to gravitate towards her older stuff, around the Surfacing album, her newer songs are nothing to shrug at either. As for a Christmas album, I assume that she will include her collaboration with BNL doing God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen.

I love her voice, and I think Xandi is wrong. She's not much in the spotlight anymore but she's around. 'Angel' and 'Building A Mystery' will always be my favorites, and 'Posession'.

Ok there is something wrong with the search function on this forum it seems. I have now searched for at least two things where it said there wasn't a topic made for it only to find out otherwise. This was one of them.

 

Anyways, what can I say that hasn't been said about Sarah McLachlan? She has the best female singing voice in existence. Her voice is truly beautiful unlike any other voice I know and there's no better way to describe it than angelic I don't think (any pun certainly intended). My favourite album of hers by far is Surfacing. The songs are just so memorable and her voice and delivery at least on this particular record is completely untouchable. Pretty much every song on there is gold in my opinion and she definitely struck up some magic with that one. Anyways that's all I can think of to say right now. I am so glad she's Canadian.
