Omg. They were selling merch before the band even release something. Honestly, I just watched the music video and it was so pretentious. I think that was Tom or something from Blink 182 with blonde hair?

 

But anyway, I'm about to give them a listen. Anyone else hear this stuff?

Not a fan at all, but I don't see the pretentiousness (at least, not in the video) nor the U2 comparison.

Well, I enjoyed the album. But for some reason, while everyone else finds Tom Delonge's voice extremely irritating and whiny, I seem to enjoy it. I think it has something to do with the child-like quality in his lyrical content and vocals. Adds an odd sense of sincerity to things. But then, that's my opinion *shrug*

I tried to listen to the cd, but after track 3 i got bored with it, and deleted it from my computer, i have not heard such a sucky cd in awhile. the music all sounded the same to me.

Hm, yeah, I found that a bit irksome about the CD as well. Mind you, sometimes, as horrible as this sounds...it's kind of nice to have the music sound a bit the same once and awhile...it's...I don't know...comforting?

my friend really likes them, and calls them a more mature version of blink 182..

 

i listenned to a few of their songs, didn't like they're sound at all. i found them to be boring, and nothing i'd ever want to listen to again. to sum it up, i'd agree with ryan. they suck.

I read a press release a while back about the album. Tom seemed to think he was doing things that were never done before. When really, the band is just a generic rockish band with synthesized sound effects over everything.
