lol true but it has a big enough population to sell some tickets and generate a profit, its along the way to Kitchener and Toronto if youre heading east (which i think he is) so why go to Kitchener and Toronto but skip Hamilton?

1) When you schedule a tour, it doesn't always fall into perfect place. You call around to venues and promoters to see what you can book on certain days, and take what's best available. More often than not, if a performer skips a town, it's because no promoters or venues in that town were interested in booking them or the dates simply weren't available.

2) He's playing five shows within an hour's drive of you, and you're whinging because he's not playing a show five minutes away? I think that may be the best answer: he's already playing five shows within an hour's drive. Good lord, I drive farther to hang out with a couple of friends than you would to drive to the Oakville show.

3) Why do people always take a town skip as that the band or performer personally hates them or their town? Ah, yes, reason number three: he hates you. Personally.

You should be considering yourself lucky to have your choice of five shows. (Albeit, two of them have already sold out.) There are some out there who are going to have to make a long drive for the one show kinda near them.

hamilton's one of the bigger cities in hamilton?

why would a city have a city of the same name within it?

you canadians sure are wild and crazy!

seriously though, i would have to drive 24 hours or pay $300 for plane tickets just to see the ONE matt good show in my own country, so suck it up.

same reason no one comes here. hell, i jump at the chance to see a show elsewhere. it's more worthwhile to just add one more show in toronto. don't forget, his wife is from here, so i'm sure he knows hamilton exists.

k Mrs Jesus was talking about my error (i said hamilton in hamilton) and yes i did mean ontario, sry for the typo, and i was just curious on reasons why he would miss it. i realize there are other places in which if you live there you basically cant go to a MG show and fyi i already was planning to go to one of the closer shows so honda i never said i was unlucky nor was i whining but thanks for the info though... i think point #1 really did answer the question

He should return to Mohawk College like he did in the Ghetto days. Other worthy bands that played the college over the years: I Mother Earth, The Tea Party, The Headstones, Danko Jones, and I can't think who else at the moment.

This year alone, Thornley (with Hurst), Theory Of A Deadman, and Billy Talent have all come to the college. Big time Canadian groups--but yet again, Matt is in his "acoustic stage" in his life and he is in his late 30s--college kids wouldn't dig it.

Plus, I am an insider with the college and could get anything for you people--but obviously, I'm dreaming--and I've wasted this post as the thread will now be bumped because of me with really no use whatsoever.

there's not a really good place to have a show in hamilton, other than the convention center. that's okay but not great.

i'd die to see matt at a local bar or something.

i'm fine with mr. good not coming to hamilton, but stop with the fucking 19+ shows.

;)

What about The Underground? I love the acoustics in that place.

???

Then why are all the Uni shows sold out to college "kids?"

(I always laugh when people call post-secondary students kids) Unless this "college" is something totally different, but the UofC venue had a smaller "older" crowd and a whole bunch of students.

ok...i know matt is playing in Buffalo as well, and Hamilton is only an hour away or so.

bands skip towns for many reason:sometimes it is cheaper for a band/person to do it that way. many big acts skip buffalo ny, and go to rochester to play and vice versa.

i love to travel to shows, and stuff. it makes the concert more meaningful and fun.
