Does Anyone know the story behind how 'The Bare Naked Ladies' got their name? This should be interesting to say the least.

I thought it might be some clever ploy to make sure people came to their shows. If nobody showsup, the creepy old guys looking for dances would come.

They were at a Bob Dylan concert when they made it up when they got bored, thinking of funny names for bands. Ed had a show with his previous band, but they broke up and he gave the venue the name "Barenaked Ladies", and he only told Steve about it later.

That's how they have told it in the past, at least. Haven't read the book. Later, the name did get them in trouble (forget the city), but it only increased their popularity early in their career.

Is that the radio show w/ Alan Cross?

That show is amazing! I don't know where he comes up with all that stuff.

i am sure all name questions can be answered form passed episodes of the ongoign history.

I'm addicted to that show. It's so informative! Alan Cross is a genius...well, at least a really good researcher...or both.
