Bass Effect Used For Hello Time Bomb

What is the bass effect used on well, mainly the intro on Hello Time Bomb? Im just getting into bass alot and don't know that much about the different effects pedals for it....

its a combination of effects, he's definately using a phaser, and maybe and envelope filter and something else, i'm just a guitar player so that's all i can think of

Are you sure? Because when they were setting up for the Kingston show, the tech guy was setting up the bass and Rich's pedals, and he clicked on a pedal (or set of effects), and then played around with the bass. And it was definately the exact effect used in Hello Time Bomb. He actually played a couple of notes from the song (presumably to make sure the settings sounded correct), then carried on setting up.

Yeah, same as Toronto. It's not a synth, he uses some pedals for it.

it's a phaser. i forget which brand/model. definately a pedal though.

I'm guessing he's using a phaser, or a flange, with a bit of overdrive.

If you've ever played around with an EHX Bassballs you'd agree with me. My friend has one and I can get it to sound exactly like it - no problem.

I would have thought it was a seperate synth since you can clearly hear the bass guitar underneath the main focus.

 

However I suppose maybe because of it being through a pedal, then I guess you can configure it to still have a clean bass sound run through as well.
