Mg Fan In Winnipeg Looking To Start A Band

I am a singer/songwriter/guitarist living in Winnipeg and am looking for a bass player and drummer for a band focusing mostly on original material (already have a lead guitarist) I have demos available and just did a cover of Prime Time Deliverance by MGB (check the matt good forum). Other influences include but not limited to: Wilco, Jeff Buckley, The Weakerthans, Radiohead, Coldplay, The Beatles, Sloan, Weezer, Bob Dylan, old U2, The Watchmen, Pearl Jam, Limblifter among many others. FYI: I'm a singer/songwriter who plays Guitar/Clarinet/Spoons/Tamborine/Clapping Hands/Snapping Fingers/Stomping Feet and I have played Bass in the past.

I'd love to say I play the things you need, but unfortunately, I don't. I was going to take drums in band back in grade 7, but my mom said they weren't challenging enough and made me switch to trumpet.

Haha. Trumpet. I used to play that but my teacher made me switch to the clarinet, some shit about my being unable to make my lips go into the correct position on the trumpet.

The Naked bongos, while a lost art, do not have the same effect musically as they used to, it's a shame i know.

I live in Winnipeg, so I'm in the right locale, and 10 of the 13 bands you've named are amoung my absolute favorites but saddly, I do not play drums or bass. If you're looking for a keyboard player, I could be of service...or maybe someone to carry your gear......hahahahaha. :angry:
