Xiu Xiu

has anyone heard of the band Xiu Xiu, or heard their songs?

 

they are fabulous.

some of it is really fucked up, but i adore it.

they even did a cover of tracy chapman's 'fast car'

 

i highly recommend them.

are they asian? xiu xiu makes me think of asians.

i don't know why.

truth be told, i thought of asians too.

mostly because there is an asian film entitled "xiu xiu".

 

i don't know how to describe them... other than fantastic. hah.

they are one of those bands that dont fit into a genre. but if someone else can think of one, please, enlighten me.

i would assume that you wouldnt pronounce the x's.

but i don't know if the band goes by the proper pronouncation.

i don't hate it and i have no idea what i was expecting.

it's definitely interesting. i need to listen to the songs more and form a better opinion, though.

 

if you want my first impression it is that they are strange.. but that isn't usually a bad thing.

Wow! I have completely come around. They are pretty sweet. Is the entire album as good, or better than these songs?
