The Cure = New album

Hi everybody,

 

Has anyone gotten and heard the new The Cure's album? Any comments/opinions on it? I havent been able to liste to it again, I hope i can get it sometime along this week... It was out on Monday 28th

Got it the day it came out (working at a music store and all)...it's amazing...probably their best album since Disintegration. A little short in running time, but the first single is amazing. The video for it is done by Canada's own Floria Sigismondi who did videos for Sigur Ros and Marilyn Manson. I give it 5 outta 5.

I can't wait to get it ;) I have been out these days - in a Festival in the south of Spain watching Morrissey live :angry: - and it is the first thing I will be doing tomorrow when music stores open: get the new The Cure album :angry:

I like them a lot, but most of their music is music-to-slit-your-writsts-to. Sometimes it's just too much for me.

really? ;) that's what you feel with their songs? that's why I love their songs, they are very deep, showing deep feelings but to the point of being "music-to-slit-your-wrists-to"... I dont get that feeling :angry:

I dont think i like them either, not really interested in their music. But everybody has their own tastes.

I think that Matt Good and the Cure have a lot of musical things in common actually. Both are rather cynical when you hear them talk or read their lyrics. I think that anyone who enjoys these bands and is really into them sees things more for what they are...no blinders. Anyone who thinks that all music, as in all aspects of life, should always be hunky-dory needs to wake up to reality. Just my opinion.

and I agree with you on expressing thru music your own feelings and opinions... The Cure has written some of the best love songs ever, some of them were crucial in my personal love stories and they mean so much to me...

The song Pictures of You is still one of my all time favorite songs.

my favorite album is Pornography and Strange days my favorite song ever... although Lovesong is also one of my favorite ones ;)
