It's out today in Australia. It'll probably sting me $29.95 (The max price for a new cd). Deloused was solid. I think i'll just pick this one up anyways. As you said...can't go wrong.

Yeah I listened to this a couple months ago and felt pretty 'bleh' about it. I'll have to give it another listen. I saw that future shop has it for 7.99.

when i heard the leak i was blown away. i love the album. although, it's certainly not something you can just put on and hear a track or two of, since the shortest song is 5 minutes and the longest is 31. it is definitely a great record though.

Bear in mind that Metacritic haven't yet included Pitchfork's review...which is, damning to say the least.

 

I'm not sold on this album yet, the last one had its moments but these guys are hardly the kings of rock.

i'd have to agree with atdi being better, but they simply have more material to work with. and since the common bond between the two bands are the two most crucial members, i'd say that it's not that either band is better than the other, but rather that omar and cedric > anyone else

i dont understand why people think sparta are so great. their sound barely changed from what ATDI was. it's no departure whatsoever. they should really just change their name to "the old rhythm section for at the drive-in". because that's what they are.

Was able to listen to it once through. It's going to take a lot longer to take in this album than De-Loused. L'Via L'Viaquez caught my attention as the highlight track after the one listen.

agreed. it has a fantastic groove. maybe that's the wrong word for it... oh well, too late.

 

it does take awhile for it to all sink in, but the last track is definitely worth it. it took a few listens for me, but i found tha the power that it has is unbelievable. i don't know why, but i like it a lot. i guess just because of how it builds...

L'Via L'Viaquez is, I think, going to be my favorite track off the album. I listened pieces of it yesterday.

there are 13 tracks, but only 5 songs.

 

a disc with 5 songs on it would only be considerred an EP.

i was reading a little blurb about the album somewhere that that's what they had to do, because EP's are defined by tracks, not by track length. this is what i read. if i can find it again, i'll be sure to enlighten you.
