i like alert status red

that what got me into matt in the first place

but a lot of his songs are "mood" songs

it depends on your mood what songs you want to listen to

I have to go with It's Been a While Since I Was Your Man. The first time I heard that song (live, August 2003), I was totally blown away. It's just amazing and beautiful. The images and feelings are so honest, and I'm a sucker for that Led Zeppelin IV line.

Although... Blue Skies Over Bad Lands has recently gone way up in my books (like within the past couple of weeks). In my current frame of mind, it's probably my (very close) second favourite.

The first time I heard the album, I was most struck by Poor Man's Grey, so I had to vote for that. But I also love It's Been A While, because I find I can almost completely relate to those lyrics.

PS-I'm also very down with the Led Zep verse, pvnc.

Wasn't this already done last week?

Fell in Love with a Bad Idea, followed by North American For Life, Poor Man's Grey, and Empty Road.

We're So Heavy.

Oh My... From the first second I heard this song, I was immediately impressed. It's almost Paranoid Android/Bohemian Rhapsody-esq with the three different parts of the song. I don't know, I like it a lot.
