I'm sure that's not the script of the bi-law, but reasonable self-defense is a case against murder, yes.

NOBODY has the right to kill anybody else, no matter what personal situation you may have involved with or no matter your political ideas may be...

as simple as that

Hey, considering that I explicitly said that I wasn't talking about murder or robbery in my initial post...

It's not that simple.

If a person is putting my family or myself in harm's way, I would not hesitate to kill him. Killing in self-defense is a right.

of course the first reaction if a person is putting my famly or myself in harm's way would be to kill him/her... but no matter how much i would want to do it, i dont have the right to do the same that person did... i would be as a murderer as that person and, again, nobody has the right to kill other people (of course terrorists DONT have the right to kill other people, but I wouldnt have the right to do the same they do)...

Why would your first reaction be to kill them? Are you a dog?

I think most people would just act instinctively to protect their loved ones. Maybe that's using deadly force, maybe not. Either way, self defense is justifiable.

Your first instinct would be to stop the assailant. I don't see how killing has anything to do with it, and I'd almost say a first reaction of 'Kill!' is a societal thing.

So long as the state maintains its constitutionality, then the people (us) have a responsibility to obey the social contract and allow the independant judiciary to decide what does or doesnt qualify as a crime.
