Influences And Inspirations Of Matthew Good

i was just wondering who you guys think matthew good's inspirations are. i was listening to the clips of steve earle that matt put on his blog and it's crazy how much they sound alike... but even crazier is how similar their lyrics are.

I can't hear too much in common between Matt Good and Steve Earle, the lyrics maybe, the sounded not really. So as for who Matt was influenced by as far as sound goes...hellifino

I do know he was orignally going to be a fol artist until he saw a show in Edmonton and it changed his mind and made him a 'rocker'

Radiohead sounds like they influenced some of the MGB stuff. 'Underdogs' has some Pixies undertones.

Talk Talk, The Who, Steve Earle, Wilco, The Pixies, Afghan Whigs, Billy Bragg, The Police, Bob Dylan, U2, The Beatles, Radiohead, Led Zeppelin, The Smiths, Depeche Mode, Yo La Tengo, Lamb, Copyright, Buddy Holly, Hank Williams, Pete Yorn these are just some of the influences/favourites I have heard him talk about in interviews etc. Check this out for further info:
