Best Musician Ever

We've already got a thread on best band ever, so who do yout think is the best musician ever and why? I say John Coltrane. He could play 1000 notes in a minute while improvising a solo. If that's not sheer genious and virtuosity, then I don't know what is.

There is a difference between being good at your instrument, and actually being a good musician.

 

Music should display a range of emotions, and I dont feel Kirk Hammet does that.

I think that when you start talking about getting into showing ranges of emotions, we talk about songwriters.

he can write songs, and he is creative, and thats a fact. Theres not a musician out there that cant write songs.

I've seen them live, and I really realy like some metal bands.

 

but for the most I think metal, and inpreticular, Metallica are shit.

 

and I saw Metallica on the Black album tour, so I saw them in their prime, and was not impressed.

Well then youve basically think hes a shit musician because you think his songs (metallicas in general) are shit. Some would say John lennon was a shit musician because they didnt like the beatles or his solo work, but he really was a song writing genius
