Garden State

Hey, I just saw Garden State last Saturday and was blown away. It's messy and honest and the kind of thing I would like to write myself.

 

Plus, it's so refreshing to see Natalie Portman inside of a role where she can actually act (as opposed to Star Wars, where she pretty much just... I don't know, but it makes me very mad).

 

Anyone else have any thoughts?

You're right, it is a great movie. The soundtrack is even better than the film. The only thing that bugged me about the movie was that pothead guy with the sl*t mom. Something about his character really weirded me out.

 

Not sure why.

One of the best movies of the year (tied with 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind'). My friend and I bought the soundtrack as soon as we got out of the threater.

I say this movie last night. It was really kind of cool. I like the balls it took to tackle such a deep idea on your first shot out of the gate.

Great movie, great soundtrack...I'd highly recommend it to anyone that hasn't seen it yet.
