Techno of the 80's

Four typical and influential techno bands of the 80s which were (and some still are) icons of this music style... which one is your favorite?

 

I would vote for Depeche Mode, although Kraftwerk were some sorta the "first ones" starting this kinda music

Depeche Mode were techno? Hmm...gotta download some of that.

 

I voted Kraftwerk simply because they're the only ones I've heard much of. I have ALOT of electronica, some of it is techno...but most is newer than 80s.

of course Depeche Mode ARE techno (they're still doing things, last album "exciter" from 2001)... listen to some of their 80s albums (some great reward, black celebration, music for the masses...)
