I have to say it's probably one of my all time favourite songs by Matt. Loved it when I saw it done live, glad that he's played it during this tour and hope to catch it again on the dates i'm going to...

 

Anyone else a big fan of this tune?

Personally, it's one of my top 5 favorites, and among the best Matt has written. As soon as I heard it when Matt was previewing the HM tracks before the stream, I fell in love instantly.

I agree with you 100%

 

the second i heard it, i never heard the preview... just when i bought the album, loved it.

 

One of his best written tracks as well... the ending makes the whole song. It's perfect.

It wasn't one of my favorites untill I saw him sing it live at Massey Hall. The ending he does live really makes the song and has made the song a lot better in my mind. I think because of the live performance I even like the album version a lot more now.

Definitely a fantastic tune, with powerful lyrics that really strike a chord with me. Matt's music has always helped me through tough times, and this song is no exception. The live version is even more gorgeous. "There you are, there you are, there's my heart"

 

edit: Oh and I love to sing this one even if my voice isn't anywhere near as good as Matt's.

 

edit edit: no pun was intended in that last comment.

Love it. Saw it live in the 2007 acoustic tour, sooo great!

I didn't think he ever played this one acoustic...maybe I'm mistaken. But if he did, I'd love to hear it.

 

It's definately one of my favorites from Hospital Music. I think I actually like the album version better than Massey Hall. But saying that, it was awesome to hear this as the opening song at Medicine Hat show last year!

I posted this in another thread, but I have a recording of myself singing A Single Explosion without any instrumentation, just me a cappella basically. I guess I'm confident enough about it to post it if anyone's interested in hearing it.

 

I guess I'm just waiting for someone to say they're interested in hearing it...lol

One of my all-time favourites, for sure, both musically and lyrically. Absolutely incredible. It's rare that I can hear it without getting emotional. He played it last night in Moncton... completely made my night. It was my one "really want to hear."
