anyone know what song it is after pete talks and before volcanos? its a quick clip but i cant pick out the song. any ideas?

The only ideas I have are that it's either a brand new song or a song that's been re-worked in some way with an extra part, a la Avalanche/Black Helicopter/Under the Influence.

Wow. I love the way The Boy Who Could Explode and Great Whales of the Sea sound. Phenomenal.

 

I have a feeling that if they open with Last Parade they may stretch out the intro a bit...but who knows.

I am almost positive it's not Avalanche, based on all the live bootlegs I've heard of it. Unless he's changed it up. We will have to wait and see.

I sent Matt a tweet asking if he was planning on posting setlists during this tour, but no reply, for obvious reasons.

Actually it was sent BEFORE the show, but he was probably playing D&D on the bus, so I suppose that's also an okay reason.

Am I the only one who thought that clip before Volcanoes sounded like the guitar explosion from I Miss New Wave? Could've just been a figment of my imagination but that's what it reminded me off and Matt did say he'd listened to Beautiful Midnight before rehearsals started.

I am glad Empty's was played. Too bad there is not more older stuff. I guess his songs are so long though (comparitively), that he can't play as many songs as some bands can.

 

I am sad that there was no VNA. I hope it gets played.

i'm not surprised at the set list, the band are still learning the new songs so they will probably have a lot of the singles and new tracks for the first few shows

I think it probably does have to do with the new band. They are limited to what they've practiced, so the set list can only be so long and unfortunately goes without many of the songs the bigger MG fan would like to hear.

The songs that become priority are the songs that are appealing to the majority.
