Universal Studio Time?

Matt is obviously killing himself making this record.... does anyone know why? My guess is he has a very limited amount of time reserved in the studio $$$$.

I don't see him killing himself more than he did for Hospital Music... mind you we don't really know much about the recording for this album apart from a few pictures and twitter updates.

Being a musician isn't as glorious as we'd like to imagine ;). They go to work just like we all do.

Like Anton said, it's work. You like what you do for a living but it's not always easy. It's not go in the studio, play the guitar, play the bass, play the drum, sing, go home to sleep and tada a record is made. So to achieve something of quality you have to work for it. I'm sure even David Gilmour didn't always have fun in the studio and probably "killed" himself for a record and he's not far from being a genius.

When it's your job, no matter how much you may love it...it's still work. The great thing is, that a lot of love goes into what comes out of Matt's job, it has to for it to have the impact that it does...therefore making it as demanding as any other job might be but hopefully just as rewarding if not more so.

I remember he was practically killing himself on HM...and the Vancouver demos seemed to be a lot more complex so I'm sure there's a lot more work than last time.

 

It'll still be amazing when it's finished in a month's time, more or less.

I wouldn't say that's why we love him, you could name thousands of other artists who do the same thing in the studio. I think we love him for both his music, personality, and human rights issues.

Does anyone know the details of MG new contract with universal music? Since they resigned him does that mean they will market him. IE radio promo, ads, videos???

One thing I've noticed: A good majority of Matt Good's videos were recently uploaded to the universalmusicgroup channel on youtube.

They even have a version of Load Me Up with commentary.

Maybe. I just noticed it and they haven't done it before. So it sounds positive to me.

yeah that was cool, there were a couple other sound checks. I'd love to see what goes into a live set with them. It's neat to see/hear about the visual cues the band takes from matt.
