It's nice to see that the JUNO people have the class to nominate MG for the Rock award, though I was curious:

 

- Has he ever even been nominated for "Songwriter of the Year" at the JUNOS?

 

I mean seriously, how could he not have been considered for this award with every LP he has released?

 

- I also thought that "Born Losers" should have been nominated for "Single Of The Year"...but, in terms of JUNOS, that's just me dreaming most likey.

As much as i'd like Hospital Music to win, the odds are pretty slim. It hasn't had much air play or promotion and that's what they really look at in an award show.

Umm... Finger Eleven and Sum 41 have had to released the worst albums of the year. Blah...

 

It honestly is no contest, even though I KNOW he won't win it... It's going to be Finger Eleven.

why you ask?

 

because the majority of the population hasn't heard of saint alvia cartel or pride tiger.

 

because sum 41 is only nominated so that avril doesn't boycott.

 

and because they won't give it to matt because they probably don't imagine him to show up, and it's a prime time award that no other band members or video directors could accept on matt's behalf. the only chance he has is if he confirms his appearance and performs.

 

thus, finger eleven. they don't actually deserve to win, i just thought it'd catch some people off guard. but they probably will win.

Finger Eleven, not even close. Every time I hear one of their songs (and/or Seether's "Fake It"), I want to drive down to the local alt-rock station and throttle the dj. I cannot fathom, for the life of me, how either of those bands are successful.

 

Having said that, Finger Eleven will win the Juno.

 

(The Atlanta Thrashers use "Paralyzer" for some of their player intros and whatnot during games - minus the vocals. And, to be honest, without the vocals, that song is almost tolerable. I say, "almost".)

 

Matt should either go for the open bar or stay home. However, since Dave Genn already went the "go for the open bar" route, I think I would rule that option out.

Just for the record, I hate Finger Eleven so much that when I hear that Paralyzer song on the radio, I have to be restrained from breaking said radio. And that was before they were up against Matt for an award.

I don't think he has said he is going or not yet. I thought he should go, but whatever. He'll probably be annoyed if he shows up and doesn't win. He might be annoyed if he shows up and wins too. Who knows :b

I hate that Finger 11 song. But then again, I hate 75% of what's on the radio.

 

Has anyone heard the two bands nobody's heard of? I wonder if they're any good...

i think f11 will win because they're playing the show.

 

st alvia cartel is like pedophile soundclash but more members. pride tiger is an awful name.

I can't believe how much i hate that Fake it song. I didn't think it was possible to have this much hatred.
