Muse do some wicked covers. 'Can't Take My Eyes Off of You' by Billy Joel and 'House of the Rising Sun' are a couple other great ones (although I don't know if 'House of the Rising Sun' really counts as a cover, if I remember correctly).

As much as I like Muse, I completely disagree.

 

I'd have to say Sandie Shaw's cover of the Smiths' 'Jeane' is probably the only cover which I prefer.

I don't know the cover you mentioned. And Muse's version isn't better than the original, it's just interesting, at least to me.
