This is true. My point being that I wouldn't want to live in a world where everybody was a scientist or an engineer. Some people just don't have a mind for science or engineering, but they are truely gifted in English, History, Poli-Sci, etc. We need both types of people, it gives different perspectives on problems, solutions, etc. And not everything in life can be solved with a formula, or a computer, or even scientifically. Humanities will often teach different ways of looking at a problem, exploring solutions, and simply communicating idea's. I think our society right now is not putting enough emphasis on the humanities, much like they were doing for the trade fields. We all benefit when somebody finds a field that they have a natural affinity for, as this is where they can do society the most good. And I defend humanities because thats where I started, and to this day some of the smartest and most well rounded people I have ever encountered were humanities graduates. And as far as alot of the slackers taking humanities, just wait until the around mid-terms, they'll get their own. EDIT - It's bad to forget words.

More like 30ish odd hours a week of class, and then at least 12-15 hours a week or more of homework and studying. Plus working to actually afford being at school. But regardless of that, you assume by your response that I'm taking a humanities program. PS - Shouldn't you get your pompous little head out of your ass?

We'd get along great.

uhhh, well there is enough people on this board who know me, so that probably would be better to ask. But I would say sarcasm... and rarely being serious.

PWNED!!! I hate social science and arts and humanities with a passion. They don't do jack shit compared to science or engineering. That was just a stupid statement.

it's totally not true

Hey, just because I don't like something doesn't mean I've never given it a chance. I generally like to be informed before I say I don't like something. I stick with my original rating --> 5/10

I've yet to try it, I wouldn't push for it, but if she was up for it, who am I to argue?

Does nobody ever clue into the fact that maybe, just maybe, they wear the trench coats to conceal the large weapons they're carrying? I don't know, maybe that's just far to obvious, but somehow I don't think a sport coat would conceal an rifle all that well.

Kat Von D from Miami Ink. And that's ok, it's only fair that you're larger than me in one area.

It disturbs me, but I know you're a fan... so 5/10

I heard about this when I got home from school. It hit pretty close to home, as a close member of the family attends that school and was standing beside somebody who got shot in the leg. Fortunately she's ok, but wow... pretty scary shit. On the other hand now, I hope people don't going overboard with security measures now.

Yeah, it was only around 3000, but initial estimates were high, as the towers can potentially hold that many people.

I found out just as I was leaving for work. My mom called and told me that the WTC had been hit and that 50 000 people were dead. I could not even fathom that number of people dead. I left for work in a state of shock, and it's only when I started serving customers and people started talking about it that it actually set in. It was a very surreal feeling. Futhermore, being in Ottawa, I remember then basically evacuating the whole downtown core. The whole day though I just remember 3 thoughts going through my head --> 1) This is/was our generations pearl harbor 2) From the time I went to bed on 9/10 to the time I went to bed on 9/11 the world was no longer the same place 3) In 50 years people would look back on this event as the one that started everything, like the assination of the Arch Duke... the question was, what did it start?

That's awesome... but only 9.5 out of 10 because the rabbit is more grey.

This is true. They should make a game where you could crucify jesus, then he gets back up and beats you to death with the remains of the cross.

TO THE LOUNGE... Edit - And I'm so scared that we agreed on anything ;)

Does that mean we can start another thread to insult each other?
-
oh, don't mistake that for an apology. I only apologize when I'm in the wrong.

I'm not even going to continue this argument with you. You mis-communicated what you were saying and I drew my conclusions based on that. You're really not worth my time. EDIT - And that's an awesome card... it puts my 7800 GO GTX to shame. ack! My inner geek is showing ;)
