  1. I love this show. I saw the two episodes that aired on ABC, and they were my first exposure to the characters. The DVD set for the show did the show much-needed justice, and I'm glad that some of the folks behind it (like Steve Loter and Chris Bailey) have done great work elsewhere since the show ended.
  2. I wish the DVD sets were cheaper. I've seen the pilot, and love it. But I missed my chance to get the bundle for $35, so it's either $60 new, or take my chances on ebay. I'm amazed at just how well the pilot stands up to time - and nothing tops the "In the Air Tonight" scene.
  3. "Oh Be Joyful" fits me today.
  4. It's neat to hear one of my favorite songs done by Matt, I wouldn't mind hearing it done professionally on an album.
  5. "Anti-Pop" always makes me smile. I can't help but think of the video when I listen to it, and it's easily the funniest MG vid visually.
  6. My sentimental favorite is "Stange Days" since it's the first one I ever heard, but "The Future is X-Rated" might be my favorite overall song off it. Rorsharch is close though.
  7. I was sitting at home watching MuchMusic (which we'd just received) in probably '99 or maybe early '00 when the "Strange Days" video played and hooked me. It was completely unlike the boy band/syrup bullshit I'd been forcefed by MTV - and I loved it for that. I'm very thankful that I got MM then, since Matt's music has helped me through some trying times. I was lucky enough to see that video, "the Future is X-Rated", "Anti-Pop", and "Carmelina" on Much as well. I think I'll go pop In a Coma's DVD in, as I now have a yearning to see them again.
  8. I haven't read anything there being a release date of any kind for it. A live CD would be okay, but it would also seem disappointing if it did end up as his last Universal release. A completely acoustic CD might be neat though.
  9. I love the show. It might not have the most in-depth comedy, but it is hilarious from beginning to end. It's also got some talented animators working on it who do justice to the funny writing.
  10. Friends is the most overrated show I can recall. MMA and pro wrestling have many similiarities between them, although right now, MMA is a far hotter product.
  11. Strange Days was the first one I saw, and has remained my favorite.
  12. My Name is Earl, the Office, Family Guy, American Dad, Futurama, and the Simpsons are my current faves. Of the available choices, the Simpsons wins.
  13. N'Sync, the Backstreet Boys, and Britney Spears were on top of the charts when BM hit the U.S. Could anyone be honestly surprised that it wasn't a success here? I'll say that the "edited" album wasn't too bad. The tone sure changed with the replaced songs, as I'd learn when I finally got the Canadian version, but the other stuff wasn't too bad. Song titles being changed on the cover didn't bother me, since they didn't extend to the actual song.
  14. My first exposure came from MuchMusic (which I had just gotten) showing "Strange Days". I was shocked at just how well the medium was used, and it was a great song as well. Then I saw "the Future is X-Rated" and was hooked. I was lucky to see the AOB vids on Much as well.
  15. "Euphony" is my favorite track on this album. The pace is nice and quick, and I dig the lyrics as well.
  16. Dave Meltzer wrote up an incredible bio on Eddie, and the history of his family. I recommend that anyone interested in it seek it out, or shoot me a PM and I'll do what I can to help you find it.
  17. I love the tempo of it, definitely a fun song, with a nice amount of moody stuff in it as well.
  18. That's what it is, although "softy" is a pretty funny substitute given the context.
  19. I'm glad you got it. I was a bit spooked when I saw that 3-6 week shipping thing, but I guess that was just MM taking some procatiounary measures.
  20. "Last of the Ghetto Astronauts", although "Coming out in Purple" is a close second.
  21. North American For Life rules on WLRRR, but here... no. Way too slow a song, and the lyrics just don't sustain it.
  22. No question, especially since the answer is on friggin' page 2. It is a great video though, worthy of two threads.
  23. I loved the commentary. Rico's has so many great moments with Matt. "Are you SURE I came up with this?!" - greatness.
  24. I got my unsigned copy today from Maple Music. I'm surprised at how quickly it arrived. I was half expecting to never get it. Of course, after one play, the tabs holding the two CDs snapped off. Oh well, at least the discs weren't damaged.
  25. Tripoli really gained something with the acoustic version. Advertising did as well, but not to such an extreme degree. Strange Days ended up a bit better than the original as well. I'd say that Advertising is my favorite off of rooms, since I love the song, and this version just highlights the lyrics, which I love to bits.
