  9. I can't see myself paying any money to see this movie. There are theories that Flight 93 was shot down by a military plane (see here). It also didn't help when Donald Rumsfeld said on December 24, 2003; "think all of us have a sense if we imagine the kind of world we would face if the people who bombed the mess hall in Mosul, or the people who did the bombing in Spain, or the people who attacked the United States in New York, shot down the plane over Pennsylvania and attacked the Pentagon, the people who cut off peoples' heads on television to intimidate, to frighten -- indeed the word 'terrorized' is just that. Its purpose is to terrorize, to alter behavior, to make people be something other than that which they want to be."
  10. It appears that RHCP will tour Canada this summer. Although no dates have been set in stone it looks like they'll play in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa and Quebec City.

  20. I saw it about three weeks ago in Winnipeg (Neil's Hometown). It was an impressive piece of work, and made me a Neil Young fan for life. I hope he tours Prairie Wind in Canada - with a stop in Winnipeg. I'll pick this up on DVD.

  23. It maybe just be my wild thinking but I believe that FOX really wants Arrested to do well on Showtime (at least for a season or two) just to get their episode count over 100 episodes. 100 episodes is considered to be the magic number at which point many television series produced for the U.S. are viable for syndication. It is commonly said in the U.S. industry that "syndication is where the real money is" when producing a TV show. In other words, while the initial run of any particular television series may theoretically lose money for its producing studio, the ensuing syndication will generate enough profit to balance out any losses. Off-network syndication occurs when a network television show is syndicated in packages containing some or all episodes, and sold to as many television stations/markets as possible. That's why I'm thinking that FOX is taken it's sweet time to hold negotations with Showtime and to announce the deal (which is said to be for 26 episodes) when it's the best time for the show. Season 3 arrives on DVD June 13.
  24. I saw it this afternoon after work, it was such a good flim and was very well made. Bullocks
