Is Matt Your Favourite Musician?
battlecry forever! replied to rabbit_hunter's topic in Matthew Good
without a doubt, matthew good is my favourite musician, and has been for several years. there's no one else that quite makes music like he does. -
this movie looks really interesting but i'll probably wait til it comes out on video to see it.

love this movie, but it's a little unbearable to watch now that i'm all grown up. go chunk!.. or whatever his name was. i love martha plimpton, she's hilarious. -
agoraphobe is lackluster.

my favourite songs are suburbia and blue skies, but as for his BEST song? i'd have to think about that.

i can't decide if it looks like shit or not. there wasn't enough to go by in the clip. hey.. is that the surgeon from nip/nick?

i've been pimping this movie wherever i go, it seems. the acting was remarkable, especially natalie portman and clive owen. julia roberts isn't someone i usually like as she always remains "julia" in her films, but she was more than bearable in this film, and i can honestly say she was good in it. clive owen's character was the most audacious man ever, and everything he did made me want to hiss at the screen. the most touching scene was one of the last, where alice says "i don't love you anymore. goodbye," and dan hits her. it made me realize how capable we all are of doing terrible things to people we love. i found it interesting that throughout this whole movie, the four characters think they are doing the right thing by being honest and telling the truth, but really.. it kind of makes you understand the reasoning behind the statement that the truth does not set us free. when should we tell the truth, and when should we withhold it? is telling the truth a selfish thing that only makes the teller feel better, or is it something we are morally inclined to share? my only problem with the movie is the very last scene where alice is walking down the street. it was okay that one or two guys turned around and looked at her, but when the third guy did it and made that gawking face, it made that scene laughable where it shouldn't have been. (beautiful midnight, it's about 2 couples whose lives become intertwined when they cheat on one another. it's based on a london play).

How Many Of These Have You Read?
battlecry forever! replied to Scot's topic in Rentals, Television, and Readables
i'd feel like a dumbass as i've read only 5 of those, but there are some books on there that i don't think are the greatest of all time. lolita was an amazing book, but they're missing wuthering heights. -
i dont mind the guy, i thought he was the best vj much music had. god, i can't stand the ppl on there now and their stupid banter. when's the show on?
-
where'd she go? does anyone know if she's still making music? i really liked her, she had a great voice. i'd love to see her do some more vocals with mg (for those of you who have loser anthems, i think it's viking 7 she's on). i think she only had the 1 album. anyone have it, and know what it's called?

i too am no longer 16, but hello daddy: anyway.. i've only heard four songs from the band, but judging by those, i'd buy the album if i had money. the lead singer has a really different voice too. i forget which late night show they were on, but there were really good. -

numb- holly mcnarland -
i bought the book and with the exception of a few bronte novels, it's my one of my favourites. what i love about mg is that he can break your heart, and then on the next page he can make you piss yourself laughing. i love this book, but it's not for everyone, especially those who don't like atypical writing styles. i wish more people would have given this book a chance. oh well, maybe if it had oprahs' seal of approval ;) the night opus is my favourite story from the book, but i promised myself i'd never read it again. at a recent mg concert, i was surprised how many hardcore mg fans haven't read the book..
