  1. I'll take the first part last: Michael Bay: because his movies make a shit load of money. They also happen to usually be shit, but the way he edits them, they are a visceral experience, you're body will pat attention to things that move that fast on the screen. Now for the first part: Because every year there are a whole new group of teenagers who want to see crapy scary movies on their big date with that, like, really hot guy/girl. And now they are so used to the Armageddon-1.5 second-average-shot-length that they get bored watching an actual movie. But really it's because of the money, that's all. It will make money, and that's all the studios care about...
  2. From Episode III, I got a very Hitler-during-the-days-before-the-fall-of-Berlin feel. Like he was all powerful, but it was all crumbling and he just refused to accept it while it's killing him.
  3. House of Wax.
  4. We're all trying to force logic into a movie that isn't about logic. The reason that they were picked off so fast is because, for the next chapters they had to be dead, and they were (at best) secondary characters who Lucus didn't want to waste a lot of scene time killing off...
  5. Night and Fog.
  6. It could happen...
  7. Yep...we seem to...We could probably get different one's if we we're allowed to look them up, though... Master of Disguise.
  8. Well, in all fairness, they were killed by traitors, people who they'd always trusted...
  9. Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World.
  10. Chingon - Malaguena Salerosa (Chingon is Robert Rodriguez's band...)

    Bootlegs

Well, thank God you cleared that up...
  12. Perhaps not the wisest foreign policy...
  13. Prelude To War.
  14. I don't think he was a droid... Obi-Wan pulled back his breast plate and there was a heart... I think he lost his body, like Anakin, I think that's why he had human/animal eyes, too.
  15. I thought it was wonderful... It just felt so good, it's like closure... I can say absolutely nothing bad about George Lucas' directing: he is a master of visual story telling, and in that sense, this is his masterpiece. Where he is really lacking is dialogue. But, I can't pick on that too much, because it isn't that kind of movie. I thought the design of General Grievous was AMAZING. His movements were so beautiful and creepy, and his eyes and, of course, the saber fight with Obi-Wan (one word: WOW!) Hayden Christensen as Anakin was pitch-perfect... Every step in the wrong direction that Anikin made was so easy to believe the way Christensen did it.
  16. The Picture of Dorian Gray.
  17. Mike, you're opinions are welcome (that's the point of the bored) but I wouldn't start out the gate attacking people. I mean, you're new here, and maybe you haven't noticed, but we all pretty much get along, and even when we don't, civility prevails... You expressed an opinion, Capt. Rocket replied with his opinions (granted they were a bit personal). What bothers me is that you didn't reply, you retaliated... This bored hasn't been around for a long time, but I think that Crusader and the other mods have done a great job of keeping it civil, and I think that most of us who've been here a while know where to draw the line. But based on the few posts that I've seen from you, I wonder why you stay, I mean if you're not here for to make friends or get information, then why are you here? I'm not trying to single you out personally, because a lot of people who come here start off very negatively, but I just read that last post, and I really didn't like it's tone. It was simply far more loud than clever. Ok. I'm done...
  18. Never Been Kissed.
  19. I'm not reading...I'm going to see it tomorrow. I had class all day and everything after I got out of class was sold out...
  20. oop. You're right...they were nominated...sorry...
  21. The Day After Tomorrow.
  22. Lord Of The Rings: Return of the King.
  23. Yeah..that is fucked up...and, alas, only RotK was nominated for Best Picture...
  24. Actually, I was amazed at how good Ludicris was. It's not a really demanding part, but I thought he was good.
  25. The Joy Luck Club.
