Better Than Ezra

Better Than Ezra just reminds me of a lot the bands back in the 90s, nothing standoutish, but nothing really miserable either... just kinda middle of the road -
Best Song Of 2004

Arcade Fire - Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels) and am I the only one that thinks the new U2 album is derivative, boring, and a waste of time? I gave 'er a listen, and I couldn't find anything exciting or new on the whole thing... -

wow man, your poll's really shooting you right out of the sky... -
you're bang on man, Matt's doing this BECAUSE it's the one year anniversary, so posting them earlier would just be silly - patience people, the answers will come

I have trouble with The Singers Sing a Song of Mass Production, the only one an AoB I ever skip I think... I haven't seen it mentioned so I bet I'm alone on this one

I saw him in London, and as he came out of Load Me Up into Carmelina the whole place just got more electric... it was incredible, always thought Carmelina would be incredible live and it was

can't get shot in the back / empty road (acoustic)/ fine art of falling apart I can still remember being at the Matt Good concert 2 years ago when empty road was an acoustic encore, a song nobody'd heard before... and it stuck in my head for two years afterwards... wow

Great stuff... does anyone know if that was Matt's first move into web design, or if someone else did all the layouts?

Kee is a great venue, I'm lovin' that he's doing such small venues now, the first time I saw Matt was in a fairly big stadium setting (on that tour with Moist and Gob back around Beautiful Midnight's time) and it didn't even come close to stacking up to the experiences I've had at smaller venues like the Palace (Calgary), Kee (Muskoka), or the Drink (London) that I've seen him at since... good on him for taking these smaller venues on!

I have to agree on Double Life... that bit where the bass rumbles and drags is actually really clever, gives the song a little edge that I think most people think it's lacking

does anyone know a good website that has all the new matthew good tabs, as well as some from demos etc...?

I think the upside down flag is about a little more than distress... it seems to me it's closer to a metaphor, that the principles and values that the country was founded on have been completely ignored these last four years, that American values have become distored and inverted, hence it only makes sense that the representation of the country should be inverted as well. Sure he's distressed about it, but there's far more intent and thought provocation in inverting the flag than mere panic. Just a thought

yeah, they for sure didn't care last night even though it said on the ticket that cameras weren't allowed... when matt came onstage, about a bajillion flashes all went off and no one gave a damn the distinction of professional photography makes sense, all they really care is that no one is profiting off the show without consulting the artist, personal photos for personal entertainment are completely different in my mind

It really was a great show, best I've heard matt in ages, and the Afghanistan rant and banter with the birthday boy in the crowd were classic... plus in the encore, load me up turned into Carmelina... wow, I'd never heard that song live, what a tune! Looking foreward to this bootleg

so he's improvising eh? Is this just the Halifax tour, or is he holding this up throughout the tour? I see him in London tomorrow night, will let everyone know what he played for sure... haven't been this stoked for a show in ages, and that Yorkfest show is just making me antsy... I'd really like to see Matt move to a more Dave Matthews variation in his set list, where if you go to one concert one night, and the next concert in the following couple of days, you'll hear a concert that doesn't have one song the same from the last show... he definitely has the repetoire to do it!
