  1. matt solo really - i'm not sure he'd get along long enough with anyone else
  2. wait, there's an oh be joyful acoustic?
  3. wow, i really thought i was a huge nerd, but i'm being outshone on this thread
  4. i have trouble listening to little terror, always wind up skiping it when listening to WLRRR
  5. i'm still waiting for the epic opening of man of action, and still desperately want to hear while we were hunting rabbits
  6. anyone tabed this yet? hey Ryan44, the political stuff makes you angry? how so? what about? why would you feel that way? you explore those thoughts and matt's song has done more than it's service, especially given the spin-turned world in which we exist. everyone has a need to examine our situation personally, and if you examine it and you come out angry at the leftist message, well at least you thought about it. cheers matt.
  7. Wow. Matt, if you're reading this, you gotta play that song at the folk fest in Calgary coming up, I think I might die on the spot. And it does seem like this is the direction of the new album, I've heard Can't Get Shot In The Back If You Don't Run will be on there too... always thought an acoustic based album from him would just be stellar, and juding by the guitar in this song he's gotten even better on that old acoustic. Exciting stuff! Any word when that new album will be?
  8. what does it matter? isn't this one of the questions matt is constantly raging against, success in any given market makes absolutely zero reflection on the band itself... music is first and foremost personal connection, anything else is just looking for a bandwagon to ride
  9. well i remember reading that matt was inspired to write suburbia by radiohead's street spirit, so i'd damn well like to see him cover that, i can just hear him belting out "and we faaaade out agaaaaaaain"
  10. all together without a doubt, just the way that guitar slides and drags as if it's pulling you down into the depths of the human soul along with the song... incredible but there is something to be said about the purity of "as long as your mine"
  11. matt good website... what did you expect? honestly
  12. "miles away" over and over again
  13. i feel old
  14. each album strikes up a very different mood for me... and when I'm in a darker mood, I find I'm more drawn to the MGB stuff, and when I feel lighter MG solo seems to do the trick. All great, but there's a monstrous difference in atmosphere and aesthetic between MGB's work and MG's work
  15. not a U2 at all... so it's not worth the effort
  16. you just gotta give 'er, whether matt's singing or speaking!
  17. WWWHR without a doubt
  18. Nothin- Calgary Stampede 30$ for a whole bunch of venues
  19. weezer - wow, loved blue and pinkerton... green kinda grew on me... but it just seems like he's lost any kind of desire to express anything genuine, lost his angst for lack of a better word - my buddy played me the new album, and it's definitely in the same vein as maladroit, with any luck someday Rivers will rediscover something that he's passionate to sing and express himself about, but for now we're stuck with this uninspiring, predictable drivel
  20. yeah, usually don't turn to matty for romance, more for disillusioned romance... and in that vein been awhile always gets me, just because i've been up those steps before... oh nostalgia

    New Show

the kee to bala show is one i make every year, and if anyone can make it it's definitely worth it - small, chill venue, and he always just gives 'er in Muskoka... it's too bad more bands don't use it
  22. yeah, i really haven't been a fan of anything labeled as that band
  23. i think what's more telling in this pole is which albums haven't gotten a single vote yet...
  24. I was wondering if anyone knew where to find the tracks Should've Been A Super Villain, Villain of the Year, and Reliance. I see them listen on this lyrics site under matthew good, but I've never heard of 'em, and don't see 'em in the store. Cheers
