Why, because his voice sounds funny? ;) He hardly had alot of experience in singing I think when that came out. I think it was more the melodrama of the whole track - it's just too much to take seriously. The thunder just kills any thread of ability I might have to take it as anything but ridiculous. He's a very good writer - I admire him for that -, but I think he got too wrapped up into being poetic in the very beginning.

Oh man...for some reason this whole thread reminded me of Endsong. When he gets to the part about the thunder and whatnot, I can't help but feel painfully embarassed for him. It's funny as all heck.

Possibly. I don't get any canadian-based guitar magazines, so I haven't seen any sign of his sponsorship - but it's possible.

I think the Gibson he has is more popular in the blues set - which seams to have started tinging his music. Perhaps that's the cause of the change?

I've never brought a camera (dumbass that I am), but luckily Taylor (the Taylor) had one the night my friend Ellen and I drove to Montreal from New York to talk to Matt for our Uni radio station. I was captured for prosterity wearing a Drew Soccer Shirt and horrible glasses while looking goofily at Matt. I guess that's more than most people can say. Ellen is at the table, too, with brown hair and her back to the camera. She and Matt discussed the International Court. Then he asked the blonde haired girl next to Ellen if she would mind going a little Girls Gone Wild. The hat is Jen's. He was rather proud of that. The salmon was excellent. So was my life that night.

I think the guy who played Parker lewis ended up in the TV version of Stephen King's "The Stand" - but damn, I wish they'd put that show back on!

This has got to be just about the hardest choice to make - even Best first song would at least be a *little* easier (but not by much). Change of Season as best song of the group - but as a LAST song, I'd say HOSAM. Definitely.

Exploding dog is great. There's a website (I forget which one), where you can take exploding dog characters and make comic strips out of them. It also has diesel sweeties, and the like.

"Hyperspace" by Michio Kiku is great - I re-read it two or three times in High school.

Everytime I've listened to a new album, it's taken me at least 3 times through before I really start getting into it. My friend and I have been trying to put together a new-listener cd - but we keep disagreeing on the songs. He's a tough guy to get into - but often i find if I play Beautiful Midnight, people will at least ask who he is.
