  1. I personally preferred the old layout... it looked cleaner, with a great header too. This does look like it has potential though.
  2. Check out the set list megathread.
  3. Well the Calgary show kicked off nicely at Virgin festival with a great opening tune, Giant and then a joke about how he was happy the sky was blue, not having to be worried about being electrocuted in Alberta again. The massive crowd cheering and screaming in reply. The rest however, to a matthew good fan was a disappointment. I don't have an exact set list, but lets put it this way every radio hit was played after the opening except for black helicopters. I know he most likely had to play all the "well known" songs due to the fact that it's a festival, and not everyone there is a fan, but I'm sure one fan-friendly song could have been thrown in... Suburbia, girl in the war, protest song... something at least. This is where it got bad though, the crowd started acting up, fight and push circles... the usual. He stopped singing twice due to the crowd getting a little to rowdy, which is understandable, safety first right? But it seemed as if he had more time to play but decided to leave because of the disrespectful crowd. He just looked pissed off about the 4th song in. Every song after that he played, the crowd got worse and he looked more pissed off. This went on to the end of show. I should have known better, the only way to enjoy matt is in a room full of people who respect him. Not drunken idiots waiting for the tragically hip to come on stage.... which I didn't wait around for.
  4. Okay here's our acoustic version of Prime Time. http://oceanlinermusic.wordpress.com/music/ Just scroll down, you'll find it. We just built this site, so I'm still learning how to use wordpress, I hope the links for the songs are stable. edit for bad link.
  5. Well if your on a train to work/school would you rather carry around a portable dvd player with a shit load of dvds or just an ipod that fits in your pocket. Not to mention you can still watch them in itunes on your laptop, doesn't have to be on a tiny screen. edited for typo
  6. Looks like will be seeing a lot more ipod ready movies on isohunt. Excellent.
  7. I'd recommend going out and buying a mac. I play guitar as well in a band and it's the best investment i've ever made for my music. Garageband and Logic (both programs by apple) are great tools to record and master full band music, at great quality too. (However I suppose that depends on what kind of mixer and microphones your using.) But anyways as you have a pc, if you want free, as Raina already said download Audacity. It's a really basic program, with no real "guitar effects" but if you have some sort of effects pedal, or any pedal at all you can plug your electric and get good sound. The website provides a lamemp3 exporter too, so you can listen to your tracks on your player after. And if you use midi instruments when making your "beats" Reason is a great program for that. I have reason 4 as well as Recycle (same guys that make reason) for my macbook with a midi keyboard, can create some pretty wicked tunes. (I wouldn't bother with reason unless you have a midi something....) Hope that helps, just giving a little more information on what others have already suggested.
  8. Come on there's got to be at least one newfoundlander on here. And a video or picture of him walking out the front door would be pretty cool too.
  9. It's definitely a change in style from plans and transatlanticism however it might just be my favorite one. Every track is solid, especially Bixby Canyon Bridge and The Ice Is Getting Thiner. Only thing which would have been nice is getting the radio edit of possess your heart, The first four minutes are just a simple drum beat which I find my self always fast forwarding through. Don't get me wrong, I hate skipping through music and being picky, take my ipod out of the 8,500 some tracks on it, there all complete cds in their entirety. But thats besides the point, it's a great album which I recommend you get. (And pay for.)
  10. A grappale. You'll find something like that grown in the u s of a.
  11. An acoustic version of Prime Time Deliverance should be up in the next couple days. I'm going to add some organs with garage band and see how it sounds first.
  12. No I miss new wave, rat who would be king or running for home... a little disappointing. Not to mention prime time would have been great full band and not acoustic. At least fated, fine art and so long mrs. smith are up there.
  13. I have guitars, a mixer, and a mac with garageband. Let's do it.
  14. cooked up some three cheese, sliced white seasoned and grilled chicken breasts (left overs from last night), chives and red peppers quesadillas. Which a salsa/sour cream dip.
