Snow Patrol
BritSavant replied to HoboFactory's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
Considering that I'm British, this is a fucking cake walk. For a start, your list has at least two albums that were RELEASED in 2003 (Absolution in September 2003, and the Snow Patrol album in late November/Early December 2003 - it was subsequently re-released when Run proved that wet indie could be sold to the mass consumer public). Keane are utterly pointless bedwetter trash, the Stereophonics album hasn't even been released yet and they've been long past their sell-by date since 1999. Not in any order: The Go! Team - Thunder. Lightning. Strike Franz Ferdinand - Franz Ferdinand The Futureheads - The Futureheads Morrissey - You Are the Quarry Mclusky - The Difference between me and you is that I'm not on Fire thisGIRL - Uno The Open - The Silent Hours Hope of the States - The Lost Riots Ash - Meltdown Amusement Parks on Fire - Amusement Parks on Fire The Streets - A Grand Don't Come for Free The Fall - The Real New Fall LP The Zutons - Who Killed the Zutons Patrick Wolf - Lycanthropy Charlotte Hatherley - Grey Will Fade PJ Harvey - Uh Huh Her Hell, even the Libertines' album was better than some on your list. There's loads I forgot, but the gist of it is that you have no real idea what British music is all about. -

They should. Snow Patrol's first album is a MILE better than Final Straw...which WAS a 2003 release -

The Zutons

Keane are ass, the Zutons are halfway decent. And their Saxophonist is teh secks. They're from Liverpool, in the same Beat-era revival scene as the Coral. They've released one album called Who Killed the Zutons? -
Viking > Life Beyond > Falling Apart > Flashdance > Circus Clown

So far it's between this and the Bloc Party record for the current best record of 2005. It's not out until May 9th/10th, but its leaked and judging from the leaked copy, this album is going to slay. It'll be very very hard to beat I'm sure.

the video for Untitled 1 gets me every time. But yeah, these guys are awesome. -
Reprise/Corporate America are the two really funny ones.

When it comes to me, expect the unexpected.

Then sod off. Ahem. What I meant to say was: I'm happy with the music that Matt's already put out (WLRRR excluded except for a couple of tracks.) If he were to put out another record, it wouldn't really be of any consequence to me, unless he puts out an amazing record devoid of any pretense, much plagiarism and relevant to today. The chances of that happening?

Best Music Dvd's On The Market

It's been mentioned before, but the Wilco documentary "I am Trying to Break Your Heart" is brilliant. Really well filmed. -
Attempting to give a shit... Please wait... Failed.

But that wording's not "factual" - it's harsh to both Matt and the kids. (Even if they both might deserve it.) If you were doing it for an objective article, the most accurate description would be something like: "Good took down his blog in January of 2005 after struggling with dissenting opinions posted in the comments section of his entries. A later private blog was removed the next month following similar incidents on his wife's blog." Note the wording. It neither condones nor criticizes either Matt or the people who posted those comments. It simply says what happened. (Sorry if that sounds kinda "know-it-all"-ish.) Worth adding? I don't think so. Most of the blog drama reads like gossip, completely unnecessary to the general audience looking for information about Matt. But don't you think it'll save all the naive people from asking what happened to the blog on here or any other board? Such posters often get flamed badly for that kind of stuff.

It's all a joke, but the best one is arguably Corporate America. Sweet daddy has been buggered, by Corporate America

Libertines V Babyshambles?
BritSavant replied to The Foot's topic in Music In General: David Bowie Appreciation Station
Answer: Who gives a shit? But heck, the Libertines > Babyshambles. -
An encyclopedia should stick to the facts. Matt didn't take his Blog down due to any other reason, right?

Yeah, it was meant to be a joke. I forgot to put the slashdot. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarcasm Do yourself a favour and give up comedy. I was being sarcastic too.
