Yeah Lonesome Crowded West and Long Drive are actually my favorite albums of theirs. The only one I don't like though is the one I just bought (SSS). There is a new EP of theirs which is supposedly going to be released soon. And yeah, float on isn't a very consistent example of their overall sound. Most people I know who haven't really give MM a chance have disregarded them entirely because of that one song.

Modest Mouse - Truckers Atlas

It is a good movie. But seeing as how we are on the music board it's obviously going to be about the band. I just downloaded In Defense of the Genre...and although there is a lot of material on that release, is a real boy is much better. How was their first album if anyone knows?

Modest Mouse - Sad Sappy Sucker I got it for $2. Terrible CD but I'm glad I picked it up cause now I have all of MM's studio albums.

The Road was kind of slow but a good read nonetheless. Really good Post-apocalyptic imagery the author created through his writing. Film adaptation is in the making too. ;) Now I'm re-reading Blankets.

Sure he may have ruined some of it. The originals will always be the best imo. But the prequels were kind of necessary don't you think?

My friend is 17. ;) He definitely lacks taste in music. He also likes music that is in foreign languages he has no knowledge of.

Jimmy Eat World - Blister

My friend is hardcore into this band. I ridicule him for it every day. I just can't see what is so special about them. They phail hard. He's probably just sexually confused because he is attracted to the lead singer. btw Bloc Party rawks! Great band. A Weekend in the City is an amazing album imo.
