  1. It's not best Scorsese, but it's Scorsese, so it's still pretty good. The "twist" isn't really played like a twist, which is good, as that plot beat is stupid beyond belief. All the tie-ins regarding the h-bomb development were fun to tease around, though he didn't say anything particularly interesting, or forcefully. But all that said, a really entertaining movie with just enough depth to merit thinking about.
  2. It's kind of hard to support the move over to all digital when records of most of the better albums are a given. Love seeing technology fighting as hard as it can to move both forward and backwards. And yeah, I own the Vancouver record.
  3. Wonder if it's being held back a bit in light of M+ getting off the ground.
  4. Yeah, that set's pretty incredible. Last Parade is pretty much the Vancouver song I'm hoping to hear in Memphis, too. Wish I still lived in Phoenix!
  5. I think I have a couple of magazine interviews with him as well. The first around the same as this one, then another around the release of Avalanche. It's voyeuristic, but between the interviews, the blogging, etc.
  6. Not to turn him into The Musician With The Mentally Ill Fans, but it's something I've struggled with as well. I'm with him all the way on his political posts, but that stuff can get crushing with no balance.
  7. If I Was A Tidal Wave is a wonderful little protest-style song that doesn't get brought up too much. Might just be my political bent, but it's one of my favorites.
  8. Anyone going to be at the TN show? Driving in from Florida, as that's the closest he's coming. Beats the flight to Canada I was planning last year though! Actually, that and the detective work I'm doing to figure out if Avalanche has a chance of being on the Memphis setlist suggests this admiring fan thing is no longer healthy.
  9. Personally, I read Slaughterhouse-Five to begin with, as it was the one I had heard the most of. Fascinating book and a good introduction to Vonnegut, and the character referenced above. After that I read Cat's Cradle, which I enjoyed, but not so much. Good book though. Then I read Breakfast of Champions, which I loved, but not so much as Slaughterhouse. All three are well worth your time though.
  10. The idea in itself isn't too bad, only what it suggests. If you allow corporations to start influencing the government so blatantly it could only lead to problems. Though, given the option, I might prefer to have a McDonalds menu read to me as I was forced into the back of a police car rather than my rights.
