The Killers - Day & Age

Anyone else give this album a listen? I wasn't too excited the first few times I went through it, but I love it more and more every time I listen to it. I think it might be my favourite album of 2008. The last track is particularly awesome, I can't get enough of it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TiRgJQehvuw Check out the "Related Videos" section to the right to hear more of the album. -

I'm not a fan of the single either, but I've listened to the album and it's not bad. -
Playing Guitar Question

Sometimes if you're not pressing down on the strings hard enough you get a bit of a rattle. Another tip: if you're holding down the 5th fret, try and put your finger closer to the 5th fret instead of closer to the 4th fret. If you're holding the 5th fret but your finger is a lot closer to the 4th fret, you'll also get a rattle. Hope you got what I said there lol. -
Oh ok I thought HM was the last album on his contract.

I'm pretty sure Hospital Music was recorded in February 2007, and then released in August, roughly 6 months after recording took place. He mentioned in a comment on his website that Live at Massey Hall is being released by Universal, so maybe he'll just go one record at a time with them instead of a five record deal?

Weezer In Vancouver Tonight!

I just got back from the concert and I have to say one of the best concerts I have ever been to. They played a good mix of songs with a few from each album and to my surprise and joy they played Pink Triangle off Pinkerton. Tom from Angels and Airwaves came up and sang the Sweater song with Weezer, awesome. They also switched around instruments a bit which was really cool where for example Pat (the drummer) would play guitar, Rivers would play drums, and some mix of 1 or more of the rest of the band would sing. One of the coolest parts was that they had a fucking hootenanny where people who submitted videos of themselves plaing Weezer songs got to come up on stage and play a couple songs with the band. There was about 20 people with a cool mix of instruments, guitars, a banjo, trumpet, xylophone some drums and a violin. The 20 people would all play while Rivers would get the crowd to sing certain parts of the song with him. It was really awesome. Me and my friends were right up there in front of the stage, it got a bit rough but everyone was mostly pretty cool. The tickets were only $64 after service charges and taxes and it was definitely wrth every penny. If anyone gets the chance to go to one of the concerts on their current tour, take that chance! -
Ah I'm excited about the Weezer concert in Vancouver tonight! I've been wanting to see them live for years. Anyone else going tonight? Last time they came to Vancouver 3 years ago they played at the Commodore Ballroom, the show was 19+ and although I was 19 all my friends were still 18 so we didn't go.

I just ordered mine about 10 minutes ago and it says "Live At Massey Hall CD (signed copy)" when i put my order number in on the website. I haven't received an email yet though.
-
Woo I just pre-ordered my signed copy on Maple Music, and I bought an Australian iTunes gift card off ebay last night so I was able to purchase all the songs on iTunes. I also ended up buying disc 1 off the Canadian itunes and noticed the track lengths are different between the 2 regions. The australian tracks are 2 seconds longer with a gap between songs.
-
Regarding the 2 seconds on the end of each song: Right click a song, click "Get Info" and then click the "Options" tab. Now just take off 2 seconds from the "Stop Time" box. ie: if it says 9:22.12 change it to 9:20.12 Now on the bottom hit "Next" and do this for each song, shouldn't take you more than a minute to do all the songs. If you ever want to undo this change you can just uncheck the little box next to where it says "Stop Time".

I hate how it's so disorganized. It's like I'm trying to get to sleep in my bed while wearing a parka and huge heavy blanket in the middle of the summer and it's 30 degrees (celsius) outside, it's just uncomfortable. It looks like a fucking 12 year old made it who kept just adding features for the sake of them being features. Fucking Frankenstein of the web. also: why did they have to remove the option to use the old facebook?
-
Anyone else think the new Facebook look is total garbage? I don't have the option to use the old Facebook anymore, and there's way too much going on in the new look. It's like a fucking annoying little kid with ADD and he keeps jumping around. Anyway it pisses me off enough that I had to deactivate my account.
-
It was about 3 and a half minutes, seemed like a full song to me.

Favourite Beatles Album

They are listed in order of release. It's a 4-way tie for me between, Sgt. Peppers, White Album, Abbey Road and Let it Be. I'm loving Get Back/I've got a Feeling right now so I'm going to have to go with Let It Be. -
From what I understand, this time around you'll be able to use either set of instruments with either game. So just buy one of the games with the instruments and one without, then you can play everything. I'm not getting either of them though. I went out and bought a real guitar back in march and I'm sticking to my decision. My guitar was a few hundred more dollars more than Rock Band but I think in the long run I'll get more satisfaction out of it.
-
He said it will be released as an iTunes exclusive first, followed by a limited double CD, I'll probably buy both. Does anyone know which record label will be distributing it? Or will he release it independently? edit: Wait was there seriously no Giant at the show? Wow I'm kinda disappointed lol, I thought that song was a staple of his live shows.
-
I don't know, but I don't think Ex-Pats would work because of they way it was recorded. You'd have to get Matt to re-record each instrument.
-
Yeah you're probably right. You could probably get people to jump onto Everything is Automatic or Load Me Up too.
-
I heard good things about this movie. Should I see it?

Does anyone know if there are any live versions of Change of Season? I checked youtube but didn't find anything. Has Matt even played the song live since going solo? I seem to recall him saying he didn't care for it or something? Maybe I'm just crazy. As an after-thought, does anyone have a list of songs Matt doesn't like to play live? Just curious. Sorry if this is common knowledge, did a search on 'the bored', got nothing.
