  1. Bloody hell. I downloaded/installed. But it'll only record in mono.
  2. "Talking like it's a reflex."
  3. I have a long running Aqua Teen addiction. Something about the beyond ridiculous humour, the shitty animation........ Amazing. The rest of Adult Swim is incredible as well. And yeah, apparently there's an ATHF movie coming out, and Mastodon has been tapped to do the opening credits.... If so, it'll be sillier than that Adult Swim-themed cd Dangermouse and MF Doom did.
  4. Anything and everything by Red Sparowes, and some Isis stuff is instrumental. For fans of Russian Circles.
  5. I can't seem to find a decent program to rip the audio off the Youtube vids, alas.
  6. Thanks for sharing the file, Mr. Man. I appear to have missed out on it, though, with each YSI link being exceeded/expired by the time I got here. If anyone could be so kind as to PM/email me ([email protected]) I'd be ever so grateful.
  7. Sometimes listening to Mars Volta makes me miss At the Drive-In. But that said, what I've heard of this album is pretty fucking tops. Not going to download 'till I've got it in my hot little hands.
  8. While I like the blue look, and if I found one for cheap, I'd be down. But I don't get the people that drop sixty bucks on an EP (or a single... Fucking NIN Halo collectors) Don't get me wrong, I love Loser Anthems, and I've made a point of keeping an eye out for it at used Cd stores (I randomly found a copy at Future Shop a month ago. No joke. It was going for $9.99.) But yeah, whatever floats your boat.
  9. Oh man. I still have old mainstays from when I was younger. Bush - Sixteen Stone Third Eye Blind - S/T I Mother Earth - Scenery & Fish Moist - Creature.
  10. You right glorious bastard. The new Melvins album is coming out Oct. 10th. Has the dudes from a drum/bass duo called Big Business (They stray closer to Black Sabbath than punk though) playing with them on this one. It's leaked, and it's oh, so sexy. Thing is, Melvins and Kyuss are really difficult to digest bands, partially because of the vocals, also because a lot of their tunes are rather unsettling if put in a mainstream-ish setting. Not a knock against them, I admire the Melvins for keeping at it, and if they tried going mainstream, it just bloody wouldn't work. (I wish they'd come to Toronto soon) Shame about Kyuss, but Queens of the Stone Age was a decent salve for that wound. Dredg are pretty underappreciated, as well. I heard a lot of cats who went to Taste of Chaos panned Dredg, which is a bloody shame, really. I heard they were making noises about releasing a live cd, which would be pretty cool. Always felt like their studio albums never did justice to their live show. Helmet and Clutch both mystified people at the festival-type concerts I've seen them on (Warped tour and Sounds of the Underground, respectively) but they put on amazingly tight performances, and rocked me like nobody's business. As for an album that's pretty underappreciated: Jawbox - For Your Own Special Sweetheart. Absolutely brilliant, mindfucking, noisy rock.
  11. Right now, I'm digging on: Isis - Live4 Red Sparowes - Oh Lord, God of Vengeance, Show yourself! MmmmmMmmMmmm lengthy songs.
  12. Poison the Well is probably more hardcore-punk than straight-up punk, but their stuff is pretty badass. I'm more into post-punk/post-hardcore stuff. (Much as I loathe the post-genre tag) Jawbox These Arms are Snakes stuff along those lines Failing that: The Germs Buzzcocks X Head Wound City The Stooges New York Dolls.
  13. Red Sparowes - finally as that blazing sun shone down upon us did we know that true enemy was the voice of blind idolatry; and only then did we begin to think for ourselves (Live)
  14. Excitement!
  15. Having had the cd shoved in my craw every day I went into work when it came out, I'm saying the following: Crazy, while a good song, is probably one of the weaker tunes on the album. Ergo: if they release another single (which they will) it will at least be mildly popular. Really, Danger Mouse can do no wrong.
  16. Beginning to loathe the "is it metal?" discussion going on here, so I'll keep it brief and return to lurking. I dig Converge. They're worth the while, and most of the stuff Kurt Ballou (their guitarist) has produced is worth checking out, as well. (Beecher, Bleeding Kansas, etc.) Dillinger Escape Plan. Really, nothing needs saying here. It's good. All of it. Isis is fucking glorious. Really no way around it. Oceanic is probably the easiest point of entry, or Panopticon. But all of their albums deserve attention. Meh, don't have it in me for a write-up on all of this stuff, but if you're of a mind to enjoy the above, then: Napalm Death (At the very least, Scum) Godflesh Jesu Young Widows Geisha Red Sparowes.
  17. Last I heard, it wasn't a retirement, so much as her wanting to spend a lot more time with her family. So, yeah, I guess temporary semi-retired.
  18. I dig it. I'd heard the name floating around for a while, but never checked 'em out. Just did now, and, yeah, it's awesome. The instrumentals smack of Jucifer. Or jucifer smacks of boris. Or.. Ah hell. I just dig sludgy, noisy stuff. Melvins, Harkonen, The Bronx... Yeah, just put it in the ears.
  19. Well said. Godspeed is excellent. I think Red Sparowes will forever be my jam, but that's no slight against the instrumental-only folk. There's plenty of post-love to go around.
  20. And I dig it muchly. Seems to be slightly tighter than the four-song opus at the end of Frances the Mute. (Which I preferred to de-loused, by the by.) Stoked for Aug. 8th.
  21. I'm going to try driving out north to camp. Unless I get to frustrated I start stabbing people in the jaw. Which is quite likely, it's already 6, and I could strangle someone and feel real good about myself.
