  1. My band could probably scrap together The Future is X-Rated. As a matter of fact I think I have a track of us doing it live. It goes alright until the end when the drummer forget when to stop so he stopped intermittently. I'll see if I can get a clip up somewhere.
  2. It's just beer. A beer a show won't do any harm. If you want to see a live show turn into a train wreck because of it, check out Bright Eyes live. If you're lucky enough you'll catch Conor on one of his binge nights. Disappointed to hear he's drinking green-bottled imports, though.
  3. My band has a couple of tunes in our cover-library. Otherwise I'd have no problem laying down some acoustic rendition of something. I just got my iMic today after seeing him in Buffalo last night and I'm in a strumming mood.
  4. So half of the people I was supposed to make the 8 hour drive up to Buffalo have bailed on me and thrown me into a frothing rage. I'll likely have a couple of tickets available for Friday once I'm up there. I'll let the board know for sure by tomorrow and I'll let them go at face value. I think the venue wants them for $25 the week of the show when I got them for $20, in case the place is sold out at the last minute or anyone wants to save 5 bucks.
  5. What I'm interested in is the Buffalo show. I've had plans to take a trip up there from NYC and that's like 8-9 hours of driving. ASAP info would be incredibly clutch since that's an awfully long drive to find out, "Oh, there's no show, sorry."
  6. Well I haven't posted on here yet so I figure this is the obligatory first post. I believe I first saw "Hello Time Bomb" on MTV2 while I was a sophomore in high school. However I was a sophomore in high school 5 years ago so that time frame doesn't add up, and come to think about it I saw the "Carmelina" video debut on Much right after I first got into Matt, but I'm digressing here because I'm pretty positive I saw "Hello Time Bomb" while a sophomore in high school. I thought, "Well this is kind of catchy but this band seems a little disturbing." Then not a week or two later I saw the "Load Me Up" video and thoughts, "Well this is kind of catchy but this band seems a little disturbing." Then I went on one of my "I need to discover new music" binges and "Beautiful Midnight" was on my Christmas list. Sure enough Santa Claus came through and I listened to the album and I thought, "Well I don't like this very much," and tucked it away for a couple of months. Then on a retreat (went to Catholic school, don't you know) I was listening to the album for the first time giving it a real chance on the bus ride through my headphones and was blown away by it, particularly by "Suburbia." From there on in, I suppose my story's the same as a lot of people from the U.S. I bought the other albums off of eBay or HMV, bought Audio of Being as soon as I could after it came out, was so excited about falling in love with this band like I never had before and then... they broke up.
  7. I'm driving up from NYC with a few friends. What better way to kick off Spring Break than an 8-hour trek to our first Matt Good show? If it's still happening, that is.
