You can't judge a band by it's fan base. I love my chemical romance and i am the total opposite as her. And look at how many complete idiots we have on a Matthew Good message board. Are we going to equate MG with idiots now? For the most part, emo music isn't marketed, it's too underground. There hasn't been one huge emo band yet. It just so happens a lot of emo fans are douches.

Really? Helena had a good concept, I'll give it that, and wasn't bad, but "I'm Not Okay..." was kind of a cliche idea. I mean even the Decemberists basically did the same thing a few months later. A] It's MCR's fault The Decemberists did something they had done earlier? B] The Decemberists have more than one video? C] Coincidentally, i've got The Tain on right now... I just got back. It was a great movie, that i would recomend to anyone.

I swear, that you and i are the only Canadians who know this. I hate when people say that their vote will do nothing... I will vote NDP in the next election, but i must say that i've been doing a lot of thinking about anarchism and communism, and other alternative politics. I think that big business influence needs to be weeded out of politics before people really have a say. EDIT: not true. the Bloc is in NB, yo. I heard a cool quote once. Something to the effect of "Conservatives are like cement, thoroughly mixed up and solidly stuck." I liked it.

The last movie i saw was the Dukes of Hazzard, in theatres. Huntsville is a boring place when you don't know anyone. I can count on one hand every movie i've sdeen this year. (Star Wars III, Show Me Love, Hawaii/Oslo, Dukes of Hazzard.) I'm proud.

I listened to Pinkerton the other day and it made me so sad. i remember around the time of the Green album, i read that Rivers was writing a song a week, and i got excited, but nope, he keeps releasing the 30 minute crap-collages... EDIT: Pinkerton made me really sad because it's so good and the new stuff really sucks. I'm not that much of an emo-kid.

yeah, you obviously have NOT listened to their music. Out of their 25ish released songs, i can one about a relationship, and it's not at all whiny. in "Honey, This Mirror Isn't Big Enough for the Two of Us," Gerard sings "You can cry all you want to, i don't care how much you'll invest yourself in me." That's like anti-emo lyrics... And as for depressed, i would not say that they are at all. Watch an interview with them. I'd say that they were quite the opposite. I love them, and i have to say that the two MCR vids i've seen, "Helena" and "I'm Not Okay (I Promise)" are both two of the greatest i've ever seen. Can't wait to find "Ghost of You," even though that's the only MCR song i don't really care for...
