i could really use to hear a bootleg of this tour. less than a week has gone by, and i'm already jonesing to hear some of it (who am i kidding, ALL of it) played again.

i really love: "thank you for your honesty, now fuck off and die." from Closer. the first time i saw that, it was just so intense to watch. another personal favorite, which i'll never quote properly, is from fight club, where brad pitt says to ed norton: "i'm crazy? you're the one firing a loaded gun at your imaginary friend near a van filled with explosives." again, my memory sucks, that's the best i could remember.

I don't know if anyone here is a Veronica Mars fan, but last night was a pretty good night to love both VM and Arrested Development. Veronica Mars is known for pretty good cameos (Kevin Smith, for example), but in last nights episode the actors who play George Michael and Maebe on Arrested were both guest stars. It was great to see a nod to such a great show in another show I love.

Here's the thing about Hurt: Hurt is a phenomenal song. It's sad, it's beautiful, I dare say it's a song that I hear played and it genuinely breaks my heart a little to hear it. The thing about a great song like that, is that no matter who plays it, the song will always be great. Trent Reznor achieved a lot simply by being the one who created it in the first place. I think to compare covers of it is somewhat silly, because it's just people going out and singing a song that they enjoyed. I like all three versions of it, and especially loved the quality that the duet between Melissa and Matt brought to it. But no matter who is singing it, it will never stop being a great song.
