  1. Antonia's Line A Better Tomorrow The Big Gundown
  2. When I saw the preview for the first time I thought it was one of those mock commercials from Concerned Childrens Advertisers or something. I can hardly believe that this is an actual movie.
  3. There are a lot of great bands/artists out there right now hailing from the Great White North. Who are your favorites? Here's a few of mine (in no particular order): Eric's Trip Death From Above 1979 Wolf Parade Matt Good/MGB The Remains Of Brian Borcherdt The Arcade Fire Holy Fuck Huevos Racheros The Dears Bad Luck #13 Limblifter Spookey Ruben The Super Friendz Wax Mannequin
  4. "Moments of Protest" by The Remains of Brian Borcherdt
  5. 6/10 Talented, but makes the term "adult contemporary" synonymous with "boring." Elvis Costello
  6. I Know What Boys Like - The Waitresses
  7. I'm not a fan of prog rock. I just don't think anything with 10 minute drum solos should be considered "rock." Worst offender = Rush
  8. Kick Out The Jams - MC5
  9. I know I am.
  10. No worries. Just hoping to spark some interest in a forgotten band.
  11. I gave up on the band after Spiritual Machines. "In Repair" was such a good single (with a kickass video as well) but I never heard anything else after from them that sparked my interest (with the exception of the song "Whatever" from WWF Forceable Entry).
  12. That was the kind of reply I was totally hoping to avoid.
  13. I'm not saying Led Zeppelin weren't talented, I'm just saying that they're overrated. Most people who are into Zeppelin are just way too into Zeppelin. It's not like Jimmy Page was Jesus or anything.
  14. Whatever happened to B.T.K.? They had a (sorta) big hit with "Peppyrock" in 1998 and then they just kinda faded away. I just dusted off my copy of their album the other day and it still sounds good. For my money, B.T.K. was the best thing in late-90s-Canadian-white-boy-hip-hop. R.I.P. B.T.K.
  15. Has anyone seen the "Young Chuck Norris" short?
  16. I too got The 'Elitist' (81% Appreciator and 44% Consumer) but I can't say that this was a very good test. I had big problems with question #3.... Pick the artist/band that best (or closest) describes your overall 'lifelong' music taste: - Ashlee Simpson - John Williams - The Killers - Led Zepplin Personally, I can't stand any of these artists/bands. I had to pick Led Zepplin, despite the fact that I consider them to be highly overrated (though I do own a copy of Led Zepplin IV). All in all, those are some pretty poor options to choose from.
  17. Some good titles on here so far (ie: Citizen Kane, Yojimbo, Evil Dead), so here's a few more. King Kong (1933) Stagecoach (1939) The Maltese Falcon (1941) The Treasure of the Sierra Madre (1948) The Searchers (1956) Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956) Rio Bravo (1959) The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (1962) A Fistful of Dollars (1964) For a Few Dollars More (1965) The Good, the Bad, & the Ugly (1966) The Godfather (1972) Five Fingers of Death (1972) The Godfather: Part II (1974) Shogun Assassin (1980) The Thing (1982) The Adventures of Bob & Doug McKenzie: Strange Brew (1983) C.H.U.D. (1984) Ghost Busters (1984) The Monster Squad (1987) Die Hard (1988) Die Hard 2 (1990) SLC Punk! (1998) Dogma (1999) Payback (1999) South Park: Bigger Longer & Uncut (1999) Snatch (2000) Donnie Darko (2001) The Royal Tenenbaums (2001) The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou (2004) Walk the Line (2005)
  18. "Yippee-ki-yay, Motherfucker." - Die Hard
  19. Matthew Good - Black Helicopter I only recently got this track and I can't get enough of it.
  20. 3/10 Watered down Radiohead wannabes. Devo
  21. Arrested Development. It's just too bad it's going to be cancelled.
  22. If anybody here is into Clinic, you might like to know that they just released a new single, "Tusk." It's available, along with a b-side, for free on their website. Check it out.
  23. I had to check the thread to see if anyone had made the Lazy Sunday joke yet. And it looks like someone already beat me to it. Nicely done.
  24. I thought it was pretty good but it was kinda like those skits on SNL, back when Will Ferrell was still a cast member, where you could tell that they pretty much just let him go and improvise whatever he wanted. It didn't feel like a very scripted movie. Vince Vaughn's character was underused, but he had the best character name, Wes Mantooth.
