Ah, there's a fourth? Certainly not by Robert Ludlum.

Pirates is pretty much out of most theaters by now. Potter, though, that just came out 2 weeks ago. It should still be going pretty strong.

Couldn't have said it any better myself.

The 'Billy Sundays' as you so called them, seemed to force their will a long time before the 1800's, something that I refer to as The Crusades, when a lot of people where killed because the didn't believe in god. That's not forcing your will? So, if I kill someone in the name of god, it's not wrong?

Hmm, that was weird. Before Night Falls

Well, being raised Catholic, I have to disagree with you. I don't remember doing anything because I 'could' and worrying about the consequences after because I could just go to confession and say a couple of Hail Marys and it be forgiven. I didn't do stuff because it was bad. You shouldn't generalize the whole religion because of a couple of Catholics. But, I'm gripping...I stopped be a Catholic a couple of years ago. Simply for the reasons, I don't think I need a church telling me how to live me life. I feel you should be a good person just because you want to be, not because you're trying to buy your way into heaven, or better yet, trying to buy your way out of hell. But, from most of the religions I've seen that believe in both heaven and hell, that's how it seems. Not many people do things just because it's a good thing to do, they do it because of what they may or may not get in return.

Is there really a differnce between praying and confession? Are you doing either because you truly feel sorry for what you've done, or because you're afriad that if you don't you'll rot in hell? And, forgive me for not knowing, but do protestants believe in hell? My point being, if you've done something you regret, are you really sorry about it, or do you regret it because of the consequences?

Apparently, mine was shipped today, which seems a little odd, seeing as mail isn't sent or delivered on a Sunday...but that's what Amazon says.

I'm not argueing the fact that time relates to how long it takes for the earth to revolve around the sun, my main point is that some trival numbers were made up to signify this. Why where some trival numbers made up for this...so that people can understand, because we simply cannot live with out understanding, and it's not even understanding it, it's using simple numbers so we can 'comprehend' it. Which goes back to God. Man made up God so he could comprehend what he doesn't understand. I believe Mr. Good summed it up best.....Man makes god, so god can make man....man makes the devil so that he can understand.

While the basic concept of time makes sense....I mean, we do all age, and so does the world, universe, etc. But, the current basis of time, does not. Minutes, hours, days? Never really understood it. And, how does fucking Leap Year fit in? Why 365 days in a year? Who decided 24 hours in a day? And, better yet, who the fuck made up daylight savings time? I still think that is a absolute waste of time. But, then, what really is time, and can you waste it? A question for an answer of a question.
-
If there is an afterlife, which I don't entirely believe, but if there is one, I highly doubt that time is a factor. A minute would feel like an hour, and hour would feel like a minute....infinite would be finite, and finite would be infinite.

I just find it hard to believe people can put so much faith in a book that they don't even know is real. More then that, that they live their live based on said book, and can't fully think for themselves. And, this is of course generalized towards the extremists of the religions, not towards the on and off again people who practice.

I feel the same way. For me, if someone asks for my help, I'll gladly give it, but I don't go around saying....smoking is bad for you, or you going to die in hell if you don't let the lord in your heart at this moment. Why do people feel the need to do that? The Catholics should be more embracing of people coming to them for answers instead of forcing it down others throats. (There are other religions that do this as well, so don't think I'm picking on Catholics...that's just the one that came to mind.)

Whether they are trying to be helpful or not, they come off annoying. And, I really don't think they are trying to be helpful, they are trying to force you to see it their way, and the best way for them to do that, is to scare you by saying you're going to fry in hell. Apparently, for most religions, the tactic to get you to believe, or have faith in that particular religion is to scare you into it.
